Alright, kiddos!! Gather up in the cafeteria for your first event!

[ The cafeteria tables are arranged differently now, long tables pushed to the edges of the room and filled with finger foods and drinks, and the center of the room open except for a bunch of tall, small round tables which are empty except for a stack of cards, but about the right size and height for two people to put drinks on as they stand around.

Vanilla is also standing on one of the tables with a bullhorn. ]

We're starting with a classic! Speed dating! You'll have five minutes each round! When the horn goes off, that's your cue to switch it up and talk to someone else! If you need some conversation starters, try one of the questions on those cards!

...Or don't! You can do whatever you want, I'm not your mom. I'm going with 'uncle' for now!

( The structure here is pretty casual:

Shoes are hit or miss.

Actually, making it to my bed is also hit or miss. But I usually end up there.

One of our friends called us doppelgängers, said that we were the light and dark sides of each other. When we became friends again, I was.... happy.

[ There's a fond expression on his face as he speaks. ]

Carving, huh? That's pretty impressive. [He has enough time to think about how cool of a skill it would be to have, and then-

Then there's a brief moment of hesitation, when he tries to think of things he does in his spare time and realizes it doesn't amount to much. Is there something there, in the space he doesn't know...?

My answer is pretty boring in comparison, but... Playing games and reading if there's something that catches my interest. Ah, I guess spending time with my friends too, and getting to know them better.

[He hums a bit afterwards. He hasn't been paying attention to the time, but asking more questions is probably a good thing.]

What's your favorite thing that you ever carved?

Not really. But I make-up for it whenever my work lightens up.

Hm, what's something you're most knowledgeable about?

Um... The Tangut script, I guess. I'm not the best with it, but I know it, which is more than a lot of people can say.

[Hinata wouldn't really mind the prying, honestly - but he doesn't say that, because he also knows that he'd have nothing to give. Instead, he just nods, smile a little bittersweet.]

I hope I do, too.

[Lingering on that won't help matters at all, though, so Hinata puts it to the side for now. He knows the clock is ticking.]

What about you? Is there anything you'd want to change about yourself?

Hey, nothing wrong with spending your time like a normal person with friends. I just didn't have any for a long time.

[doesn't even waste a beat considering what his favorite carving is though]

I made a morin khuur for a good friend of mine. It wasn't great, but it was a good way to spend my time recovering from some pretty bad injuries, and I think he was happy to have it.

Mm, well. . .

[ thoughtful, but the question is. a little hard to reflect on, or rather it's painful. ]

I'd like to be kinder. Though I do try my best, I've certainly had my moments of weakness.

[His face gets a little pink just from the proximity, because that is Very Close Indeed, but he doesn't pay it much mind because most of him is too preoccupied with screaming, not this again.]

What is going on with you and Tsumiki? First her, and now you, talking about some kind of... killing game, or whatever. [He scrubs his hands down his face. Hinata never thought he'd want this, but he almost wishes he was back on the island where things made sense.] I don't know what's going on with you two, but both of you have me worried.
