Premise

Can you make a knock-off of a knock-off? Or maybe it's just an extension of the theme? Either way, the setting of Nope's Peak returns... as a non-violent dating game.

Mechanics

Each week, players will submit their character's rating for everyone in the game - HOT, NOT, or NO OPINION. These ratings will then be used to match characters for dates.

HOT-HOT pairings have priority.

If there is no available HOT-HOT date for a character, HOT-NO OPINION matches will be made.

NO OPINION-NO OPINION, HOT-NOT, NO OPINION-NOT, and NOT-NOT will not form matches.

Characters who do not have an assigned date are up for potential elimination. Immediately after dates are assigned, the list of elimination candidates will go up. Everyone in the game votes to eliminate, and the top two voted characters will be removed from the game and sent to a romantic getaway to try and get a little better at dating.

Characters who do have a date have one week to thread it out. Along with their hot or nots for the next week, each player will submit a rating of their character's opinion of the date from 1-10. Each character has a score which is the accumulation of the ratings they've gotten on all of their dates; however they can only get points from a character once. Characters can date the same person more than once, but the second time on will not affect their score. For this reason, we will try to match people who haven't been on a date together yet, but you may still be matched a second time if there are no other options (since at least you're safe from elimination that way).

Note that the ratings are an OOC assessment. ICly, your characters will be paired/scored based on ~apparent chemistry~.

The game will end after six possible dates, regardless of how many characters are left in the game. Though there may be an opportunity for bonus points at the end...

Any character who is still in the game at the end will receive the ability to freely travel between two universes of their choice! The top three scorers will also receive:
1st: 1 million dollars
2nd: 250 thousand dollars
3rd: 100 thousand dollars
... or an item of equivalent personal value as those would be to someone who cares about money. Lifetime supply of your favorite meal? Sure. Assume they were offered something good.

Schedule

The game will run for seven weeks, from 2/15 to approximately 4/5.

Thursday
- Your rating of the previous week's date and your hot-or-nots for the next week's date must be in by Thursday, 6pm PST.
- Date assignments will be out by approximately 9pm PST, and you can start threading your date together in private at any point.
- A post will also go up around that time with the list of dateless people eligible to be voted out in elimination.
Sunday
- Elimination votes are due by Sunday, 10am PST
- The week's mingle event will go up shortly after.

ICly, it alternates between "elimination day" (Friday-Sunday) and "mingle day". (Sunday-Thursday). Dates ICly happen sometime on elimination day, although they can be threaded all week.

Signups

Game start is tentatively scheduled for 2/15. Signups must be in by 6pm PST, Wednesday 2/14.

Who can play
This is invite-only for people on XL (

misailury) or Vector (

vectorspace)'s plurk timelines. Said people can also invite one more player each as a +1. People who were in Nope's Peak before are good too even without an invite.

What characters are allowed
Must be a fictional character from a published canon of some sort. Characters who were previously in Nope's Peak can carry over their experiences, but otherwise CRAU is not allowed. Also, don't app someone who it would be creepy to have date a teenager. I'm not going to set a hard age range, but please be reasonable.

Currently you may bring one character, but we may allow seconds if it doesn't fill up.
