Trash Squad Day 1 - GAME START

[ Maybe you were going about your business and blacked out, maybe you were dead. Either way, when you come to, you are in what looks like the entrance hall to a school, except for the very well secured front door. Before you can really get your bearings, a voice rings out on an the intercom. ]

Welcome, kiddos! —How does that sound? 'Kiddos'? Too daddy kink? Eh, let's go with it for now. Anyway, welcome to a once-in-a-lifetime chance at romance and passion, with fabulous prizes! Find love beyond the boundaries of time and space! Original concept, do not steal.

Pick up your tablets and get settled in! A little later today, we'll have our first heart-pounding get-to-know-you event!

—Oh, also, no violence allowed! I know some of you kids are into the murder thing, but that's not the kind of game we're running here.

[ In fact, there are several boxes of electronic tablets around the room. When you pick one up, it displays the gameplay and rules.]

[she almost drops the tablet in surprise]

You're here too? I don't suppose you know how we got here, do you?

[asking the important questions right off the bat. we better not be kidnapped??]

And no, I'm not sure how we ended up here. What does Little Miss remember?

I was at work and...

[oh no it was an all-nighter, she doesn't actually remember]

Well, I didn't think I fell asleep, but I might have fallen asleep. This doesn't feel like a dream though.

[ ....sleep is good for you, you know ]

I was definitely awake when I arrived.

[giving herself a little pinch on the arm]

I'm awake too. It was a good theory. Well, since we're both here, we could take a look around.

And maybe someone will know how to use this...tablet? It isn't much use if we can't make it work after all.

[she gives it a couple more taps before tucking it under her arm and setting off. in. a direction! sitting still is not her thing.]

[ keeping his out as he walks with her, still tapping at the screen ]

There seem to be people around that seem less confused than us about these things.

That would explain why the tablets didn't come with instructions. They might have thought everyone would know how to use them, or at least we could help each other out.

Someone showed me the right way to hold it.

Does it say anything useful?

[well, anything would be useful at this point, but she figures Obi will highlight the key things. probably.]

[taking a quick look at them as she walks--and then stopping in her tracks to get a better look.]

[scandalous? improper? probably not how you're supposed to start dating people?]

It's stupid and I don't care for it at all. Surely these people have better things to do with their time?

You would think so.

And yet, here we are.

Well, let's make the best of it. At least it isn't anything worse.

That's right.

It's a shame Mr. Mitsuhide and Miss Kiki couldn't be here with us as well.

I noticed that I hadn't seen them around, even though Zen is here. I can't imagine anyone trying to bring Kiki to a place like this, though.

I'd put my money on her when it comes down to it.

[that gets a laugh]

I can just imagine her fighting off every foe and turning into the dashing hero that comes to our rescue!

She always is!
