[ Maybe you were going about your business and blacked out, maybe you were dead. Either way, when you come to, you are in what looks like the entrance hall to a school, except for the very well secured front door. Before you can really get your bearings, a voice rings out on an the intercom. ]

Welcome, kiddos! —How does that sound? 'Kiddos'? Too daddy kink? Eh, let's go with it for now. Anyway, welcome to a once-in-a-lifetime chance at romance and passion, with fabulous prizes! Find love beyond the boundaries of time and space! Original concept, do not steal.

Pick up your tablets and get settled in! A little later today, we'll have our first heart-pounding get-to-know-you event!

—Oh, also, no violence allowed! I know some of you kids are into the murder thing, but that's not the kind of game we're running here.

[ In fact, there are several boxes of electronic tablets around the room. When you pick one up, it displays the gameplay and rules.]

Seeing how everyone else is reacting to their "once in a lifetime chance". It seems like we're all as excited as the next person about it.

Honestly, I think this whole. . . "once in a lifetime chance" is just full of it. I mean, people will certainly get lots of chances to fall in love. We don't need some silly game for that.

I don't think the incredible part is falling in love. I think it might be just being here.

[holding up his tablet as an example]

If we're actually crossing into, I suppose, different worlds, then that's something in and of itself, right?

That's only if it's true, right?

[ She's a bit of a skeptic on that herself, given that traveling through different worlds is supposed to be considered a miracle. ]

My name's Zen. I'm from Clarines. How about you? Where are you from?

[ Clarines... is definitely not a place she's heard of, and she knows most places, due to her heritage. ]

Tohsaka Rin. I'm from Fuyuki, Japan.

Nice to meet you, Tohsaka. You've seen these before, right? The, ah, tablets?

Hm? [ She shakes her head. ] No, these are my first time seeing them.

[starinhereye]

Darn. Guess I'll have to find someone else to help me, then.

[tsunderine]

Sorry about that. I'm just not... [ As much as she's loathe to admit it. ] ...good at this kind of stuff, apparently. Hopefully you find someone that can help you, though.

I'm sure I can. I'll let you know who I find for that too, if you don't beat me to it.

I would definitely appreciate it, Zen-kun. [ She probably shouldn't be using honorifics, but she's using it anyway to be polite. ] Oh, and that goes for any other information you find out. I think trading information is really important, after all, if we want to get out of here.

Yeah, it'd be nice if that were sooner rather than later. I'll let you know if I figure anything out. Not sure yet what to look for, though.

Well, if there's any way out, I would definitely like to know that. ...Actually, I'm certain everyone here would.

They would. However, it won't be that easy. I guess, what I meant, is where to start to eventually find a way out.

Why is there a playground here?

I don't know. But it looks — Colorful? Is it meant for children?

Yeah, it is. It's kind of weird that it's here for a romance thing, don't you think? There might be something there.
