Trash Squad Day 1 - GAME START

[ Maybe you were going about your business and blacked out, maybe you were dead. Either way, when you come to, you are in what looks like the entrance hall to a school, except for the very well secured front door. Before you can really get your bearings, a voice rings out on an the intercom. ]

Welcome, kiddos! —How does that sound? 'Kiddos'? Too daddy kink? Eh, let's go with it for now. Anyway, welcome to a once-in-a-lifetime chance at romance and passion, with fabulous prizes! Find love beyond the boundaries of time and space! Original concept, do not steal.

Pick up your tablets and get settled in! A little later today, we'll have our first heart-pounding get-to-know-you event!

—Oh, also, no violence allowed! I know some of you kids are into the murder thing, but that's not the kind of game we're running here.

[ In fact, there are several boxes of electronic tablets around the room. When you pick one up, it displays the gameplay and rules.]

It isn't a matter of forgiveness - simply that we're fundamentally unable to get along. That you see us as such is a miracle. . . no, that we would work together is a miracle in and of itself.

In other words, you are the miracle that has us getting along. Aren't you happy? Even this is God's work.

You can believe that all you want. Acknowledging it as anything more than a delusion would have to be acknowledging the possibility that I could be right, after all. And, if you can acknowledge that to even the slightest degree, then I have already been proven right.

[ and, abruptly: ]

Avenger, do you feel the connection to our Master?

[plsbully]

[ at that his expression seems to shift, more troubled ]

In a way it's a relief they aren't here. And yet ...

And what of your powers?

[ sobering, tone becoming serious. don't you love this wild ride of light/heavy ]

[plsbully]

You haven't tested yourself?

Mm. . . Well.

[ opens his palms up; they begin to glow, as if he's about to use his magic - but instead of producing any sort of power, his left hand glows white and then glittery, as literal glitter comes out of his hand, and then his other hand glows the faint purple before beginning to produce rose petals. ]

It doesn't seem as if I'm in as quite dire of a state as you.

[ yeah, honestly it's funny ]

You're able to use your powers, then?

[ a small poof of flame from his fingertip ]

Well, it's certainly better than my own.

Perhaps with our powers restrained like this, however, we do not exert as much mana, and therefore - perhaps we will be able to survive, without disappearing - at least for a few days.

[plsbully]

I wonder. They must have been able to summon us in one form or another ... Do you believe there's anything sustaining us outside our own existing mana?

[counterfaith]

If there is some sort of leyline, or otherwise another power source, I cannot sense it here. But, there must be some sort of source, given what they are capable of doing. . .
