Alright, kiddos!! Gather up in the cafeteria for your first event!

[ The cafeteria tables are arranged differently now, long tables pushed to the edges of the room and filled with finger foods and drinks, and the center of the room open except for a bunch of tall, small round tables which are empty except for a stack of cards, but about the right size and height for two people to put drinks on as they stand around.

Vanilla is also standing on one of the tables with a bullhorn. ]

We're starting with a classic! Speed dating! You'll have five minutes each round! When the horn goes off, that's your cue to switch it up and talk to someone else! If you need some conversation starters, try one of the questions on those cards!

...Or don't! You can do whatever you want, I'm not your mom. I'm going with 'uncle' for now!

( The structure here is pretty casual:
- Make a top level
- Tag some people! Optionally, start off with a question from the deck of suggestions!
- Thread! You can ask more questions if you want.
- Try to keep threads around 10 comments from you maximum. This isn’t a hard limit, but assume a bullhorn goes off around there to signal a switch.
- Pace yourself, kids, this runs until Thursday. )

Oh! P-please don't worry, I don't have any intention of telling anyone else. Truth be told I don't think anyone would believe me if I did tell them, but it isn't my secret to be talking about to others.

I can admit that I'm curious to learn a little more, but I promise not to pry if it's meant to be hidden.

I would rather not have my memory charmed either. Even as a safety measure, it sounds too extreme for my tastes.

Is this something you've had to keep secret for your whole life? I do admire your resolve if that's the case. I can't imagine keeping something so big a secret for so long.

Eh. [He wobbles a hand vaguely, an ambiguous sort of gesture.] My whole family's wizardly going back a couple of generations, so when I was a kid I was mostly around other wizarding families my folks knew until I was old enough to start at Hogwarts.

Sometimes you get magical kids born into muggle families, though. My mate James's girlfriend Lily had to switch out of muggle school when she was eleven.

Does that mean that some people get magic when they get older? Or they just don't know that they have it?

I can't say that I've heard of anything like that where I'm from. But, then again, if it's secret then of course I wouldn't know. It must be a big community where you're from, if you had plenty of friends your age growing up, yes?
