Alright, kiddos!! Gather up in the cafeteria for your first event!

[ The cafeteria tables are arranged differently now, long tables pushed to the edges of the room and filled with finger foods and drinks, and the center of the room open except for a bunch of tall, small round tables which are empty except for a stack of cards, but about the right size and height for two people to put drinks on as they stand around.

Vanilla is also standing on one of the tables with a bullhorn. ]

We're starting with a classic! Speed dating! You'll have five minutes each round! When the horn goes off, that's your cue to switch it up and talk to someone else! If you need some conversation starters, try one of the questions on those cards!

...Or don't! You can do whatever you want, I'm not your mom. I'm going with 'uncle' for now!

( The structure here is pretty casual:
- Make a top level
- Tag some people! Optionally, start off with a question from the deck of suggestions!
- Thread! You can ask more questions if you want.
- Try to keep threads around 10 comments from you maximum. This isn’t a hard limit, but assume a bullhorn goes off around there to signal a switch.

I guess I don't really have a hometown... I live in Tokyo, but I spent a lot of my childhood overseas. I didn't live in Japan until I was older.

Ah. Traveling that much can be pretty rough when you're small.

It wasn't all bad. I got to spend time with my parents, and while we were living in Peru, I met my best friend.

Good. I'm glad you were there, then.

Oh, on topic. "What is your favorite memory with your best friend?"

My friend's a college professor these days, but even when we were kids, he knew everything about science. So we'd stargaze a lot, and I remember one time, he taught me about the pinhole theory while we watched a solar eclipse together. Another time, he told me about how rabbits couldn't survive on the moon because it had no atmosphere.

[He smiles a little at the memory.] I didn't care about that science stuff when I was a kid, I just remembered being worried about the rabbits if there was no air for them. I guess even after Ryo explained it I didn't really get it...

Sounds like you were a really sweet kid. I'm glad you have such a good friend, too. He sounds pretty cool.

[Rubs the back of his neck, sheepish.]

Yeah. A lot of people don't understand Ryo, but we've been through a lot together. Do you have anyone like that?

I wasn't lucky enough to get really close to anyone until some time in the past few years. But... I have people I've been through a lot with, who I'd do anything for. So yeah, I think so.

What's your favourite memories with them?

... Every time we reunite, no matter how long it's been. Yurul playing the morin khuur I made him for the first time. Him teaching me the letters we're fighting so hard to protect.

[It's a sad sort of smile he's making, but a smile nonetheless.]

[Akira watches, picking up on the sadness in his expression.]

You must miss him a lot.

[Admits it, a little ruefully.]

We're not on the best terms right now. He decided to fight for our cause in a different way, and what he's doing now is... Not compatible with what we were doing before, let's put it that way.

[Quietly and without warning, Akira begins to cry. He can see right through Sudoh's smile, and it upsets him.]

[Just stares at him, tears openly rolling down his face.]

You're crying, because you miss him, and because you don't see eye to eye on how to fight...

[Akira sniffs and says nothing else, staring at the table and looking miserable. Best speed date partner ever.]
