Trash Squad Day 1 - SPEED DATING

Alright, kiddos!! Gather up in the cafeteria for your first event!

[ The cafeteria tables are arranged differently now, long tables pushed to the edges of the room and filled with finger foods and drinks, and the center of the room open except for a bunch of tall, small round tables which are empty except for a stack of cards, but about the right size and height for two people to put drinks on as they stand around.

Vanilla is also standing on one of the tables with a bullhorn. ]

We're starting with a classic! Speed dating! You'll have five minutes each round! When the horn goes off, that's your cue to switch it up and talk to someone else! If you need some conversation starters, try one of the questions on those cards!

...Or don't! You can do whatever you want, I'm not your mom. I'm going with 'uncle' for now!

( The structure here is pretty casual:
- Make a top level
- Tag some people! Optionally, start off with a question from the deck of suggestions!
- Thread! You can ask more questions if you want.
- Try to keep threads around 10 comments from you maximum. This isn’t a hard limit, but assume a bullhorn goes off around there to signal a switch.
- Pace yourself, kids, this runs until Thursday. )

Mmm. Good answer. Making sure not to be too honest too early in the conversation, right? Or is that really the truth? I won't be offended if it's actually someplace more personal.

I'm not trying to be dishonest. I just figured the other answer was too obvious.

[ laughs a little ]

Of course, you're right. It's pretty obvious.

[ draws another card ]

"What is your weapon of choice?" Hmm. But is that really a dating question?

[lacrimose]

[Is that a dating answer? Who knows, because Akira is already picking another card.]

"What is your longest friendship?"

[hopegloats]

[ Komaeda seems pleased with Akira's answer, and shrugs at the next question ]

Three days, I think. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at making them last. How about you?

[lacrimose]

Only three days...?

[Akira frowns, upset by that.]

Over ten years. We met when we were kids, and we stayed in touch, even though we moved away to different countries.

[hopegloats]

That's lovely. You both must be very dependable.

[lacrimose]

Yeah. I don't always agree with him... but he's still my best friend. [Then he smiles warmly at Komaeda.]

Maybe this is weird to offer when we don't know each other, but if you need anyone... like a friend... I'll be around.

[hopegloats]

[ there's a flash of deer in headlight confusion on Komaeda's face before he washes it away, smiling mildly ]

You really are that kind of guy, huh?

[ and then the buzzer sounds ]

I'll keep that in mind - but ah, I never introduced myself, did I? I'm Nagito Komaeda.

[The confusion doesn't go unnoticed, but he doesn't comment on it. After the buzzer sounds, he nods.]
