I think you might've been wrong. About Allen, I mean.

[He's a little hesitant to talk here, since he's got mixed feelings about the whole thing and all.]

[ppppppauses, but all he really does is tilt his head and give Rin a questioning look]

About us getting along.

[Wait no, that's not right.]

I mean, we do get along, he's really friendly and it's easy to talk with him. But...most of the time when we talk, he ends up crying. That can't be a good thing, right?

[Akira can kind of see where this is going, just based on his own conversations with Allen. he frowns, and leans his elbow against the counter and his chin in his palm]

That depends. What do you talk about?

A lot of stuff. Our worlds, funny stuff we've seen here...

[He did promise Allen he wouldn't tell anyone about certain things, though. So he'll be vague about the next part.]

He...we're a lot alike. Well I mean, his dad isn't Satan or anything, but a lot of the stuff I went through he did too. Being bullied for his looks, friends being scared of him because of his temper, stuff like that.

[He's stretching the truth there a bit to make it sound normal, and since Rin is a shit liar Akira will probably be able to pick up on that. It's KINDA true, but not the full truth.]

And I told him that I totally understood what that was like, and he started crying. Twice.

I don't think he was crying because he was upset.

I wasn't there, so I can't say for sure, but. . . he might have been touched that someone else could really understand the things he's gone through.

But I don't want to make him cry! His smiling face looks a lot better, I want to see that face, not his sad one!

That might be true, but look at it this way. If he's crying for you, then he must already trust you a whole lot.

Maybe. I'd still rather see him smiling instead though.

Well he liked food, but everyone's cooking for him so he might be full.

...I bet I could tell jokes to get him to laugh.
