If life is that short, do you really want to spend it accumulating "what ifs?"

There are no "what if"s. There's just what happens. And what happens is that Allen Walker is a very precarious existence to begin with.

I don't mean to encourage people to get attached to it as it'll just end badly, but it seems I can't really stop that from happening, so I'm... trying to make the most of it while there's still time.

It's not easy, and it's painful. Maybe I'm being selfish in saying I don't want it to be so difficult or to hurt, but...

I am. Just this selfish sort of person, I guess.
