[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

[his eyes get really wide and he reaches out to stop him]

[not going to resist being stopped, but he sure is moving to scribble Robin Hood out of the picture]

[at least someone grabs Akechi by the marker-holding wrist before he can do any damage?]

Akechi.

[afailedmurder]

[turns a cold gaze in his direction]

Ah, Kurusu. Your friend has been having difficulty taking hints.

[yusuke grabs the sketchbook from akechi and quickly holds it to his chest like it's a fragile thing he needs to protect]

You... do you truly hate us that much?

[afailedmurder]

I hate being looked down on. I'm not a charity case that you need to hang out with out of pity, and I'm not some broken thing for you to study to make you better at drawing.

[turning his glare to Joker]

Are you putting him up to this? I only want him to leave me alone.

[purrtagonist]

[meeting Akechi's gaze evenly, eventually letting go of his wrist]

Why do you assume we see you as nothing more than a charity case?

[afailedmurder]

[lowers his hand and puts the cap back on the marker, using it to gesture at Yusuke]

Maybe it's not even as kind as that? You dislike me but you want to understand me—isn't that just morbid curiosity? Or do you only humor me in order to keep the peace? Because that's what I've been doing this whole time.

[did you know. this boy has very fragile feelings]

[yusuke holds his sketchbook to his chest tightly, an anchor for him, even though his voice is trembling]

... I wanted to understand you, despite how frustrating you can be. I asked Saihara and Akira for insight, and I came to realize that we are more alike than I had thought. Even now, that thought perplexes and angers me. But I wanted to do better than before. I thought you deserved that much.

I decided that I neither liked nor disliked you, a few months ago. That was the best way to approach you moving forward. But it seems I am destined to hate you, if this is how cruel you can be--!

As I thought, they talked you into it. That perplexity, that anger... those are your real feelings.

[sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose. he looks tired.]

Do not presume to tell me what my real feelings are! You don't understand the emotional journey I took to forgive you! To see you as a person trying to live their own life moving forward instead of someone hopelessly clinging to the past.

[butting in as soon as Yusuke says his piece]

It's okay for someone to talk their feelings out with someone they trust. That doesn't necessary mean that they've been "talked into" anything. It just means they were looking for clarity.

You don't have to keep pushing people away. Not anymore.

[afailedmurder]

[it's occurring to Akechi that he's the one in the wrong here; that he overreacted and let paranoia take the reins, because he doesn't understand Kitagawa. not one bit.]

[but what's he supposed to do, admit it?]

[KIND OF BEWILDERED HERE, WHEN DID BITING OCCUR?]

It was for bingo, but he bit far too hard!

I did it because he tickled me and I became very uncomfortable, so I lashed out. I should not have allowed myself to do so. I went too far. Have I not acknowledged this? I offered to take you to the nurse's office and you refused.

[ignoring Akira in favor of yelling at Yusuke]

I thought you had made a mistake and was granting you a second chance! How was I supposed to know that tickling was going to be so unpleasant?! I thought it would be enjoyable, not torturous!
