[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

[yusuke's quiet for a few moments, and he pulls his hand from sudoh's hair to cover his mouth, his breath hitching again]

[he doesn't know what to say. he's still kind of reeling from the double-punch of never seeing sudoh again, and knowing that sudoh loves him--and knowing that he loves sudoh back. what can he say to this? "i'm sorry"? no, that sentiment is useless. his chest feels too tight, too hot, and he thinks it's just like with suoh. there is nothing i can do to help him.

...

but then he thinks of what he said to sudoh earlier. cherish every moment. sudoh said he didn't regret it. it would be an insult to sudoh to regret even a second of their time together, even knowing the pain that will come to them later.]

[there is one thing he can say, though. he barely gets it out between his breath hitching, but he says it]

I love you.

[oh, that... it makes him happy to hear, but it hurts, but it hurts so much] Oh...

[it hurts way more than yusuke thought it would. he almost wishes he hadn't said it. but he made a promise to himself to be honest with his feelings, and he won't take it back.

he lowers his head and rests it on sudoh's shoulder, his own shoulders trembling quietly]

[...finally lets go of his deathgrip on Yusuke's shirt, to wrap his arms firmly around his shoulders.]

[he wraps his arms tightly around sudoh, unwilling to let go, to do anything else but quietly cry into his shoulder]

I know. But I will not waste my time thinking of them when I only have you with me for a few more days. Even if you have come to love others here, like Suoh, even if you love them more... I will occupy my thoughts with you.

[reaching to stroke his cheek]

Sure, I love other people too, but it's not about loving someone more or less.

[lifts his head enough for that, his eyes red around the edges]

I... only mean that... if you would rather be with someone else, I will not keep you. I realize that my desires are selfish, and if I am being perfectly honest, I would want to spend as much time as possible with Suoh, too. And if either of you objected to my involvement, then... well. I won't push my own desires onto either of you.

[runs his hands soothingly down Yusuke's back.]

Let's calm down a little, okay? Then, we can go ask Suou about it together. Straightforwardly. Without leaving room for making assumptions like that. It'll be putting him on the spot, and I feel bad about that, but... we don't have much time to waste, right?

[he shivers a little from the contact, already worked up emotionally, so the physical contact just heightens everything]

[he's gonna wobble over to a love sac and collapse into it before his legs give out]

[tagging along, curling up in the one beside it. giving him space but not like, Avoiding him at all, keeping an eye on him.]

okay crawls to share the one he's on, tucking himself up beside him.]

[wraps an arm around sudoh and presses his face to his hair, inhaling. he's still pretty shaky, but he's tethering onto this to ground him]

[smells more like iron and furry critters than a, like, human, but yusuke probably had already noticed that what with all the contact. sudoh takes this as a signal to snuggle up close, careful to keep his arms tucked up close to his body, letting Yusuke latch onto him as he will but taking care not to make him feel trapped.]

[he really just associates those smells with sudoh at this point tbh. he lets one hand drift into his lap and lace his fingers with sudoh's, holding his hand.

and he just stays like that for a while, until--]

Oh, I forgot about the game.
