[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

[ he smiles a bit, too sharply, drops his hand to Ruler's head ]

[ wah headbutts his hand, and then up to his wrist, putting a pawfist onto dantes' leg ]

[ c... Ute.... His hand shifts to scratch behind an ear. ]

[ closing his eyes, leaning into the touch and putting another pawfist on his leg. wait

don't cats ]

[ he keeps scritching before he moves his hand back to his hair, petting through it ]

[ shifting to ease onto his lap tucking his head against his forearm. actually this is pretty nice. ]

[ puts his other hand at his back ]

[ without moving, yet, still curled up ]

I would hope not. I'm not unkind towards animals.

Logically there would be very little reason for them to be susceptible to my wrath.

Mm, yes. There is no evil intent behind their behavior; they simply live to survive, and nothing more than that.

[ almost wistfully ]

Is that how you think humanity should live?

............... I cannot deny that if such was the price to pay, so that there would be no more cruelty in the world, it would be a small one.

[plsbully]

[ ha! ]

You would be mistaken, if you think animals cannot be cruel. But they lack the intent to do so.

[counterfaith]

Mm, they can be, I know. So, it is imperfect as a solution - as we all are, and in certain cases, cruelty is not intent but simply trampling a flower on the roadside while focusing on the sky. But, they by and large cannot and do not inflict cruelty on humans; it is always that humans inflict cruelty on them.

[plsbully]

But if we all became as animals there would still be cruelty, amongst each other. It is simply a different sort.

[counterfaith]

I know. So, that isn't enough - and how simple it would be if it could just be a matter of having humans become simpler! If it could just be that, then everything would be easier.

But, to remove cruelty completely - that is something that doesn't exist in the world. Even plants will crush other plants to survive. So, a greater level of solution must be applied.

Hah! I wonder how popular you would be, if more were aware of your "greater level of solution".

[counterfaith]

Not at all, I'm sure. People have their own misconceptions, and their own biases. And, people fear what they do not know.

[plsbully]

Oh, I am aware. But in your case ... I believe they would have a right to be fearful.

[counterfaith]

I won't deny them that - they can fear all they want. But, this conclusion is inevitable in any case, and eventually they will see that I am right.
