[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

Just going outside sounds really nice right now. Somewhere we could watch the clouds go by. If it was more serious, I think climbing a mountain together could be romantic.

I just really miss the fresh air... being cooped up is no fun.

Okay, hmm... what are your... pet peeves?

Hmm... I don't really like gossip. It annoys me when people think it's fun to share things that people are trying to keep private, just for fun.

What else... It also bothers me when people dismiss people's interests without understanding them. Just because a person doesn't see why fighting or painting or whatever is fun doesn't mean there isn't anything interesting about it that they could learn about if they tried.

For fun it is a bit petty, but I'm surprised that a detective wouldn't like gossip... I-I would have thought it would make your job easier or something. [It certainly can't hurt for a spy, anyway.]

Oh... do you have some kind of unusual interest yourself then?

Maybe, but I don't think the job of being a detective is more important than people's feelings.

And I think all my interests are pretty normal, actually. I just like hearing about other people's.

Painting is a normal interest too, but you still listed it.

It's a little bit unique. Most people aren't good at painting.

[pecker]

Most do enjoy paintings though... or maybe that's just rich people. [A timid chuckle follows.]

I wouldn't say just rich people, but the average teenager isn't going to have spent a lot of time appreciating them, I think...

Oh... I see.

[Well, when he puts it that way, she supposes she hasn't spent a lot of time appreciating the average teenager. Observing from afar is a bit different.]

That makes sense, Shuichi-san. Then by normal interests... do you mean that you're mostly into TV shows and games and such?

Ah, I personally also read a lot of books, but yes, I'm familiar with most mainstream shows and things...

Even dating shows?

...I catch then now and then, but it's not a particular interest.

Oh well. T-Teenagers probably aren't the target audience for those either.

Maybe not. Anyway, I've certainly never watched anything like this one...

We really should be going to glamorous spots like the mountains if it was for mass entertainment. Don't you think?

That would be nice.

It's a bit claustrophobic, being trapped in here without even any fresh air.
