[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

Then - I dare you to tie one of your bows to the top of that big tree in the greenhouse. [ If she was some sort of expert, he'd have told her to go for the curtains in the theater, but a tree sounds about the speed of decent enough. ]

I shall give it my best, though it is a clip... is it acceptable to just place it on a branch there?

[ She indicates for him to follow her, as he'll probably want to ensure she does it, and starts walking to the greenhouse. ]

[ A triumph is better with witnesses. ]

Certainly. As long as you can dare someone to get it back for you later.

[assent]

[ She'll keep walking along until they reach the greenhouse. ]

Ah, that would be kind of you, thank you. Here we are... Please wait here while I start.

[ She indicates near to the entrance of the greenhouse, figuring it'd be better than trying to stand under the tree when she's wearing a dress. ]

[aria_ardeinae]

[ ...That's fair. He's going to bond with the tomatoes, then. Plants like it when you sing to them. ]

[assent]

[ She'll start her climb too, though it's only with lots of scrambling, yelping and almost falling back down because she slips or her hair gets in the way that she reaches about 3/4 way up the tree. ]

Will this suffice?

[ The tomatoes have significantly less of his attention at this point, his heart's in his mouth for a lot of that climb, he's not sure if he could get over there in time to catch her, but- well, fortunately, she's made it. ] Yes, well done!

[assent]

[ The only trees she's dealt with were while collecting materials for Usami. She's only got this far because her collecting level reached level 5. ]

I am glad to hear it. Um... however. I am afraid I cannot get down again now.

[ More like she's glued in place gripping the branch for dear life. ]

[aria_ardeinae]

Ah. [ Oh, shit. ] I'm afraid that I've learned well the limits of my strength. I doubt I'd be able to carry you down on my own, but... Please wait as you are, I'll fetch help at once.

[assent]

[ Some things were not thought through... ]

Of course... If I tried to get down again I am not certain where to step anymore. My apologies.

[aria_ardeinae]

I could guide you, but falling from that height - it's not something that should be done with uncertainty. [ Running for help, there's no shame in retreat. Okay there's some shame in retreat, but there's worse in getting someone else's skull cracked ]

[assent]

[ She smiles at him, but it's half like a grimace. ]

It is all right, take your time.

[ She'll just sit waiting here. ]

[lacrimose]

[Akira skids into the greenhouse minutes later, having run ahead of Reyson after hearing she was stuck in a tree. He stops at the bottom, looking up at her.]

Sonia! Are you okay?

[assent]

[ By the time anyone comes in to help her she's already managed to calm down all the more, though she is also still refusing to look down just yet. ]

Ah... yes, I am unharmed. Are you here to help?

[ Reyson did say he was going to ask, so... ]

[lacrimose]

Yeah, Reyson sent me. I can fly up and get you down easily, but you have to trust me.

[aka: pls don't freak out if he becomes a giant winged hellbeast]

[assent]

[ More like she’ll get excited—which is probably not the reaction he’ll expect. ] Of course I trust you.

[lacrimose]

[Akira transforms, huge bat wings sprouting from his back (another shirt ruined, oops), growing claws and fangs, until he's fully in his Devilman form. It only takes a single beat of his wings to reach a branch adjacent to the one she's stuck in. Burying his claws into the tree and using his tail for balance, he carefully reaches to put his other arm around Sonia's back to scoop her up.]

Put your arms around my neck and hold on.

[His voice has more of a coarse, animalistic growl to it, but he definitely still sounds like Akira.]

[assent]

[ You have to trust me, he says, but really she can't not be surprised when her saviour changes in front of her eyes. When he lands on the tree her gaze shifts over him, her cheeks flushing slightly because this is?????? incredible???????? ]

How...? [ Her arms are reaching up blindly though, gaze unable to look away from him. ]

[lacrimose]

[Akira can't help but stare back for a moment when he catches her gaze. Up close like this it's impossible to miss how pretty she is, especially when she blushes.]

...I'm a Devilman. My body is a devil's, but my heart is still human.

[He holds her close in a gentle but firm grip, and once he's sure her arms are securely around his neck, he leaps down from the tree, landing on the ground light as a cat.]

[aria_ardeinae]

[ Rushes in, takes one look, casually, quietly backs right back out. They're clearly having a moment. Goddess damn, those massive hairy arms though ]

[assent]

[ Her mouth opens slightly, like she's about to ask something else but instead she holds onto him a bit tighter, all the more aware that they should probably get her out of the tree before asking him a million questions.

Sorry Reyson... for that.

When he lands down on the floor, gracefully and carefully, she lifts her head again to ask: ]

Have you always been like this?

[lacrimose]

[There is room for two in these massive hairy arms, Reyson!! Akira sets her down and folds his wings, shaking his head.]

It happened recently. A demon possessed me, but my heart was stronger than his, so the only thing that changed was my body.

[assent]

[ She says a soft "thank you" as she's set back down, feet now on solid ground again. Her hand tucks a piece of her hair behind her ear, and it's very hard to not delve into a million other questions about it. ]

I see... You seem to have a lot of control even though it happened recently, however.
