[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

Judge. They are capable of flying at high speed by drawing air into their feathers.

[ It's not like anyone's going to pull him over, are they? ] Are you afraid of anything?

[Normally at this point she'd just say no, but truth serum.]

People being afraid of me... I try not to be scary but they still stay away, other than Masazumi.

Well, you won't have any fear from me - strong you might be, but I sense no malice in your heart.

[ ...He's not that accurate at sensing these things under normal conditions, to be honest. But he's not talking about his actual skill ok, herons on average are quite good at it. And besides he hasn't been scared of any physical threat for twenty years and he's not going to start now. ]

The people here keep saying that. It is nice compared to how those back home are.

[It's probably a good job he isn't sensing, cause the loneliness and desperation is strong with this one... Though he probably doesn't want to sense everyone else's thirst anyway.]

I'll confess that my homeland isn't the best, either. Not long ago, I would have despised most of the people here just for being beorc.

I've Ike to thank for showing me that I was wrong to judge an entire race by the actions of the worst of them.

What is it like there? Where I am from there are many species living together, it is strange that so many here are not used to it.

Thousands of years ago, our tribes were once one people, but we split again and again over time. Living apart makes it easier to look down upon and despise each other, however, and recently, there were massive wars in quick succession, strong enough to wake the Goddess Ashera from her long slumber.

We've been holding onto peace since then, and making attempts to strengthen ties before the memory of war passes beyond the current generation. It's rare for many of different tribes to live together, and it's common for the needs of one tribe to conflict with that of another -

[ This is his job, he's been enjoying the break in some respects, but look, this is on his mind a lot these days ]

For instance, hawks have the habit of screaming while they hunt, or for joy, but the sound terrifies the horses that beorc must ride upon and use to plow.

That is why all must work hard to make it possible. It is tough to decide what to compromise on though... But that is a job for someone like Masazumi.

The one that I remember being a large hurdle, was creating an environment dragons can live alongside humans in. Air pollution caused my most creatures, especially humans, would cause the dragons of old to suffocate. Until humanity was able to clear the air, dragons could only live in a few areas.

In the current era. Or at least on Musashi, the air is purified by ether, and the dragon's lungs have evolved to handle most air conditions.

Air pollution?! [ He lives in the air, he doesn't like the sound of that. ] I'll have to see about this ether - if this is to be a problem of the future, it's best to solve it before it comes to pass.

Judge. I am not sure what happened, that knowledge was lost. Supposedly a lot of the things that caused it were destroyed in the war when the heavens collapsed.

So it might take another war to save the dragon tribes... chaos is inevitable, I suppose.

...[Does she say something? Yes she does, of course she does.]

I have met some who start wars in peace time because they find the world boring without it. Even with everything else that was happening they wished to see how unpredictable it would be.
