Trash Squad Day 11 - SECRETS

Are you ready for it?! It's the long awaited final event! This is your last chance to get close before your final dates and the final bonus event!

And, back by popular demand, it's the motive vi—wait, no, not that. Well, I guess you're motivated to build your relationships? That's better anyway.

...Anyway! Check your tablets! You will find you have a few interesting video files! They should be familiar to you! The catch is... if you don't share each one with a different person by nighttime today, they will all be shown to everyone here! We'll have a fun midnight viewing party!

This may seem a bit cruel, but... love is cruel sometimes. Take it as an opportunity to get a bit closer to the people you care about, or everyone will learn a bit more about you! It's win-win when you think about it that way!

[ On your tablets are a minimum of 3 video files! There is no maximum; it's however many you OOCly want to deal with. Each video contains some sort of secret your character has—'secret' loosely defined as anything they would be uncomfortable being thrown up on a big screen in the auditorium in front of everyone. The presentation can be as simple as lines of text with embarrassing facts (Alice wet the bed until she was in junior high!) or as involved as a dramatically edited montage of the murders they committed through their whole life. Your choice!

Each file should be shown to a different person to count as 'shared'. If there is anything they do not manage to, or choose not to, share with someone in particular, comment with a brief description of it over here. These will all be shared publicly in a post which goes up on Thursday before the date announcement post. ]

[ Sonia pauses at the way Mikan responds to her, her own head lowering slightly in response. Her position right now is hardly comfortable though, so she moves to take the seat next to her. ]

Thankfully, Saihara-san told me what he knew of... our situation two days ago. Otherwise I imagine this would have been even more difficult to process. I admit I still do not know the complete story, however. He was not entirely sure how much was true or if it was even something real. Have you spoken with him yet?

Saihara-san? [That surprises her, but she shakes her head] Ah, no... I haven't. [Why would he know?? A member of future foundation or...?

She doesn't know, but that means he must have given Sonia at least some details.]

What-- What did you learn?

[ She rests her hands on her lap now, looking down at the tablet as she picks it up from where she left it on the floor. ]

What he told me is that the island I remember being at was most likely a simulation that was intended as "Rehabilitation". He told me that we were part of a group named "Ultimate Despair" and that... we caused a lot of damage. Honestly, [ Her voice softens. ] it still ended up being worse than I had imagined.

[ Rin had to snap her out of a panic attack and she threw up when she saw what happened to Nanami. Fun times in dating au land. ]

Granted not all of these are memories of that, but there are three or four related to a time I do not recall nor understand entirely.

[Mikan twists her hands together in her apron before she sits as well, drawing her knees up.]

...That's...all true. That's why I was so confused when you were talking about how nice everything was, and had no memory of...Of everything. It was... terrible. It was supposed to be nice, like what you remember, I guess, but everything... Went wrong. It became a killing game instead.

[She goes quiet a moment] I-I'm sorry, Sonia-san... If those videos are anything like mine, then-- Then they're all true. O-or at least, they're true from wherever I'm from.

[ Her hands slowly spread out across the back on the tablet. ]

Saihara-san said it could be alternate universes, he and his classmates were in a similar situation. Saihara-san remembered a killing game... Momota-san and Ouma-san remembered a dating game.

[ She pauses now. ]

May I ask you to confirm some things for me? Naturally I was able to work some things out, however... Not everything is clear given the lack of information I have. Ah... Also. [ She pauses, looking uncomfortable. ] Given that we are both aware of some of these, feel free to show me one of your videos as well. I... already watched mine with other people as I was not ready to talk to you about it until I had seen it, so...

[Mikan nods along, because that all sounds logical to her and... Well, she figures after all this time keeping it from Sonia, the least she deserves is answers.] O-of course. i'll answer everything! I... I'm sorry, Sonia-san...

I just. You seemed so happy, so I... I didn't want to ruin it by telling you all of... that. [She looks down at her lap] I d-didn't think you'd believe me anyhow...

[She looks at her tablet though, unsure which to go about even showing.] ...I'll show you one. Though, I think some of them might overlap...

No, I thought... that may be what it was. At first I may have been a little overwhelmed by the information, but Rin and Allen listened to me and helped me calm down so it was not as difficult to process.

[ Which is... probably saying some stuff, too. Whatevs. ]

I still cannot explain why myself and Hinata-san seem to remember differently to you and Komaeda-san, but... at least things will be cleared up now, no? Besides, this is merely to give you the chance to hide something you may be ashamed of.

[Mikan tilts her head curiously. Allen and Rin, huh... Interesting. But this isn't the time to speculate on Sonia's love life even though it's definitely a topic Mikan would much rather talk about.]

I-I guess. [A pause.] Did you want to share a video first? Or, um... Ask your questions first?

But-- But... I won't hide things. Not this time. Because, um... Sonia-san deserves to know everything. It's only fair.

[ No, they're not talking about her love life right now--that can come later as there's definitely time for that once she figures out all this other stuff. ]

I can explain what videos are on here rather than showing you if you would prefer. All the ones regarding home are... They have been watched, after all. I may need your assistance with another later, but I would prefer to discuss this first.

Saihara-san told me that it is likely that we are from alternate universes given that you remember a killing game, but I do not. It is similar to himself and his classmates. He deduced that I was probably pulled from the simulation which is why I do not remember anything from before. He told me that we... had been part of Ultimate Despair and that the simulation was a means for rehabilitation. However, I... I admit I do not understand how all of this happened.

[Mikan nods--that she can explain rather than show--and listens to the rest quietly.

Alternate universes is kinda what she'd been thinking, in the vague 'this is possible too' way, so hearing that 'confirmation' isn't much of a surprise. But...]

Junko Enoshima-san happened. [She says it quietly, staring down at her lap. She plucks at the bandages on her leg] I-I can't really...explain her. She was-- She was Enoshima-san. [HELPFUL. Mikan shrugs helplessly] She was obsessed with the idea of 'despair,' of spreading that despair everywhere. I don't know why...

[A pause.] But... She targeted us, our class... Because of me. Because I...I told her about everyone. And Nanami-san. [Quietly:] It's all my fault.

No, if it is anyone's fault it is her fault, not yours. I heard the name, at least, but the method behind it ... was Nanami-san's death, was it not?

[ She taps her tablet. ]

...I saw it. [ Saw it and threw up a bit ngl. ]

[Mikan is quiet a moment before she nods slowly.] Yes. Nanami-san's death and something in the video to brainwash was, to keep us watching, to make us despair...

[She winces a little.] I have...a video of it too... And of our 'graduation.' And... One of myself and Ryota-san... And there's another from that time. Killing and torturing people. Some videos from my time on the island...

Sonia-san... We did a lot of very terrible things.

[ Her eyes shut and she breathes out. ]

That was what I concluded, thank you for confirming it. I... [ She shifts slightly, not moving much just straightening up. ] I have one of our 'graduation' as well, though I am not certain of what the explosion meant. I have another showing what happened to my parents. [ That one is fucking awful. ] I feel like I am unable to connect to any of it, however, as I still do not remember any of it myself.

Though I would say the extras are embarrassing to show anyone either.

[The mention of Sonia's parents makes her flinch a little--not that Mikan was there for that or anything, but she'd heard things.]

Maybe... It's a good thing that you can't connect it right now... The first time I remembered everything, back on the island... [Mikan goes quiet then, plucking at her bandages more harshly. At length she finally whispers]

I killed Mioda-san and Saionji-san.

[ I mean, in ways Tsumiki is fucked up... Sonia is fucked up in others. Despair just made everything so much worse. ]

In the simulation? [ Her hand reaches to cover the other girl's to stop her, not wanting her to think she was alone with this now. ] Komaeda-san also talked about a killing game... Does he remember it all as well?

[Mikan flinches as if expecting a blow rather than the gentle hand that covers her own, but she does seem to calm somewhat at the gesture.]

N-no... No, I don't think so. Not everything. I think I'm the one who... Who remembers everything. Even waking up from the, um, the simulation. I don't think Komaeda-san even knew it was a simulation? I'm not sure if he really understood that he as p-part of our, um... group too.

He... seemed to know we were, though. He was very... [Mikan struggles with a decent word for it] Mean. Here, I mean. Um, back hoe, once we all woke up and things explained, he was getting back to normal.

U-Um, well.... Y-you know, normal for Komaeda-san.

So you have just kept it all to yourself the entire time we have been here?

[ That sounds so awful??????????? ] He did not react in a bad way to me, but he did say that perhaps his memory was wrong. I wonder why...

[ She's so clueless about everything sorry Mikan. ]

...I-it wasn't anything anyone needed to know... Not when everyone was having so much fun and was happy... i didn't want to ruin anyone's good mood. [It's fine!! Everything's fine, she's fine.

Mikan frowns a little, then shakes her head apologetically. While she knows like 97% of what happened in the simulation after she, uh, left it, she doesn't know everything. And she can't begin to speculate too hard about Komaeda's....Komaeda-ness.]

I don't know... I think he'd found information on us being part of that Ultimate Despair, and, um... Komaeda-san, even back then, still believed so strongly in 'hope', so... I don't know. I' sorry.

H-he may have just been really mean to me! He... [Mikan pauses for a long moment and pulls a hand back to start twisting her hair around her finger] I don't think he's f-forgiven me for... Giving into despair and killing...

Perhaps not, however... [ LMFAO MIKAN you don't realise how many days she's cried while here. Good mood, sure. ]

Things change, you should not have needed to handle this all alone, especially if Komaeda-san has not been friendly with you.

[ I mean, she isn't going to question his reasoning, so... ]
