[How's everybody doing? Really feeling the spirit of the holidays? After the grisly scene is over, your tablets return to normal, and helpfully inform you that tonight is a Killing Night.]

[That's not all the tablets do today. At some moment when you're alone and happen to look at the thing, a screen with this as its background (yes, including the watermark) pops up. Written on that screen is a fresh new murder carrot — something you desperately want. In fact, even if you are Too Protagonist to take it, you get one. Have a taste of what everybody else is dealing with, you goodie-goodies.]

We're going to truncate the killing night phase a little (though you can backthread with your nighttime buddy as long as you please) so as to not overlap with the holiday. Basically, it'll look like this:

Sunday 6pm PST - trust sheets due
Tuesday 6pm PST - results of killing night are revealed
Thursday 6pm PST - voting discussion post goes up
Friday MIDNIGHT PST - votes are due
Saturday 10am PST - execution post goes up
Sunday (the 24th) - optional minigame week for everybody who isn't into real life Xmas
Sunday (the 31st) - trust sheets are due for the next round (the form will be up for several days before that, no need to actually be present on NYE)

[Akechi can be seen in various places, as he is rather restless today. He has a notebook and pencil he picked up in the art room, and occasionally makes some notes to himself, but mostly he's zoning out, off in his own little world.]

[Akira's not that hard to find this afternoon. the door to the interrogation room is open, and he's taken a seat on the edge of the table, one foot propped up in a chair. his tablet lies on top of his knee, the screen pitch black]

[he's staring at it, but not really staring at it, because his gaze is distant and his expression is blank and he looks a little lost in thought]

[Hi, Akira. It's Ichigo, who's putting a hand on your shoulder from behind.]

[He knows that this has to be hard on everyone, but it seems like Akira's taking it especially so.

For now, there's not much he can say, but just let the other teenager know that he's here.]

[Will is out by the fish pond again. ... Well, his body is, not sure where his mind is at. Certainly not Nope's Academy, at least.]

[She shouts as she runs up behind, not waiting for a response. She stops just short of the pond, kneeling down and leaning over to look at the fish. The way she's positioned she looks as if she might just fall in.]

Hm... you think anybody feeds these lil guys?

[True to what he wrote, Ichigo is in the art room for most of the day, writing down in his notebook until someone comes in looking to talk to him. He actually seems pretty well put together, if he does look particularly grim and yet determined - nothing like the outburst he had yesterday. ]

[Hasn't looked at Recyclr yet and isn't here to talk to Ichigo, just get some page markers for his own notebook. When he sees him he stiffens up a bit, but he comes in anyway and goes about his business quietly.]

[She just wanders back to her room to change out of the onesie. Instead of going with the normal clothes she puts on the tattered guard uniform she came here in. It's still scuffed up from her battle with Muneshige, with scratches on the plate armour and frayed ties.

But it's an outfit she's used to.

And, skipping breakfast, she goes to the Gymnasium to practice her spear drills with a baton and her sword exercises with one of the knives from the kitchen. She's going to spend most her day doing that.]

Erika's Proposal

[Erika has set up a little station in the Art Room. Perhaps your character is there because they saw her message on the tablet?]

[At any rate, she'll wait until there's a fair amount of people gathered before making a speech.]

...Ladies and gentlement, how do you do? I am the Great Detective, Furudo Erika. Even though it's only been a short period of time, I'm sure I've made an impression on those of you I've been fortunate enough to have met.

I have a proposal for everyone here. One I believe that will solve the problem we face at night.

There is not way to leave one's room without a partner. No traveling 'alone'. Theoretically, one could stay in their room all night and be safe... but then, are they truly safe? A person alone in their room can still not prove they were alone and there all night. If you choose that route, you will surely become suspected by those looking for a killer.

However, if you venture out, you risk becoming the next victim... that's not desirable either, is it? [she gives a little shrug]

That is why I have concocted a method that will allow everyone to maintain an alibi, venture out of their room at night, and deter a murder. All while following the rules as presented by our... hosts.

[She pushes forward a large number of papers with a crease in the middle.]

I propose we use our little grey cells and be smart about this. Every person writes down a person they will explore with during the night on a piece of paper here. "I am X person and I am partnering with X person." We will put these papers is an envelope, and seal them until the killing night is done. That way, we cannot be accused of 'publicly' talking about our 'killing night plans,' because they will not be public until the night is already over.

In this way, we both deter a murder, encourage exploration at night, and establish who has an alibi and who does not. If two people write they have each other as a partner, and one of them dies, then we certainly know who to suspect the most the next day, don't we?

...It's not a perfect plan, of course. Surely someone with murder on their mind will try to cheat and write a false name, creating confusion when the results are revealed. Similarly, the raccoons will probably introduce some rule to get past the idea, as they have invented new rules to account for what happened the first 'killing night,' but for the time being, why don't we attempt to solve the problem with this?

Just from looking over the rules for possible loopholes, this level of reasoning is possible for Furudo Erika.
