Day 13: Investigation
[Morning comes, and with it, a distinct sense of unease. The raccoons spared no feelings in their offers yesterday, and even tried to ensure a murderer could get away with it... Only if everything goes according to the raccoons' plans, though, and that hasn't really been the case so far, has it? Haven't you been doing so well these not-quite-two weeks?
In some cultures, thirteen is considered an unlucky number, you know.]

INVESTIGATION: MAINTENANCE ROOM

As Kaiba walks through, he's going to find that something wet falling down onto his face, into his hair, one drip drip drop at a time.
It's...
Pepto Bismol.
At least it isn't blood???]

It's hard to get a good and proper look when the body is so close to the ceiling, but—okay well first item of note is all the fucking Pepto Bismol all over the place, it's on the walls, it's dripping down, there's a puddle of it a few feet in front of Kaiba, it's all over the pipes, the body is soaked in it, holy shit. I guess second most importantly is the corpse, really. There's a pipe that goes horizontal all the way across the maintenance room, and the corpse is utterly covered in wounds through its torso, even though it's hard to see the grisly details from all the way down here. There isn't a visible end to the pipe, not something you could put a hoop through, so how, exactly, did the corpse of Maki end up impaled through the middle on one of the overhead pipes?
Drip drip drop.]

...So, okay, okay, let's follow this pipe a bit, see if there's any obvious way it could've been slipped onto it from the side (and then, slipped off) since the alternative is really gonna make a mess and do they even have a laundry service? No stars on this Yelp review, for sure.
He is also gonna check for something stepladder-y, since he has a bad feeling the messy way to get her down from there is going to be the only way]

So what the fuck.
There are some stepladders and some real ladders but the pipe Maki is on is waaay up towards the ceiling. Like, if she wasn't dead, she could probably reach her arm up and grab one of the light fixtures. These won't help.]

[Wait no, first he carefully removes his trenchcoat and places it in a relatively safe location. Then he shakes the pipe, hard.]
no subject
the pipe is actually relatively sturdy but that's some good rattling there. enjoy the pepto bismol blood rain.]

[This will be a fun addition to the nightmare playlist, yes
He does another lookthrough for any other way to get up there (save for monkey-climbing up the pipe, which, no), or in case anything had fallen loose from her clothing during all the shaking]

[Welp, if the ceiling is higher than 6'1" noodle arms+ladder, and the only way up there isn't coming down, then looks like his work here is done]
