Day 13: Investigation

[Morning comes, and with it, a distinct sense of unease. The raccoons spared no feelings in their offers yesterday, and even tried to ensure a murderer could get away with it... Only if everything goes according to the raccoons' plans, though, and that hasn't really been the case so far, has it? Haven't you been doing so well these not-quite-two weeks?

[Yeah he. He probably did run into that body. Because he's not one for being cautious.]

[He backs up half-a-step, and he can actually see who it is and just what is going on. Which makes him freeze in place, because for all of the shit he's seen, a person just hanging there like that is new to him.

Especially since it's a person he knows and genuinely finds agreeable.]

[ Hiyori, whose voice is always so strong and loud, gets suffocated somewhere on the way from his throat to his mouth. His shout dies to something pathetic and strangled, and he takes an automatic step away from the horror though he can't bring himself to look away. He falls to his knees instead, staring upwards, his usually expressive face flatlined. ]

[That's right, someone else is here too.

Rin turns right around and goes over to Hiyori. He will try to reach out and help Hiyori to his feet.]

C'mon we gotta get the others-

[Totally not trying to usher Hiyori out of there so he doesn't have to stare at his dead friend, nope.]

[ Hiyori's hands clutch too tightly when Rin reaches out as he steadies himself and rises to his feet. He looks like he might be sick, but he's holding it together for values of "holding it together" that mean that he doesn't have to be carried out of there, and will walk under his own power.

When he speaks, it's characteristically selfish though there's no power or enthusiasm in the words. ]

I'll leave that to you, Rin-kun. Yes, yes . . .

[It's alright, he gets it. This is pretty damn traumatic and all.]

[ Shakes his head, his arms crossing as he retreats away from the library. ]

I am not informing the person who killed Tsumugi-kun of their own crimes, yes! If you wish to do it, that is on your own head!

[ Hiyori never follows orders, and even shell-shocked he's not about to start. He sounds entirely resistant to the idea, despite the fact his voice is pretty ideal for calling attention when it's needed. ]

I am going to his room to burn his things.

[ Stalking in the direction of Tsumugi's room, not slowing down. ]

I saw that! But not everything burns in that shrine! And there's other things to worry about right now!

Everything I tried yesterday did. And nothing is more important to me right now than doing what I can for Tsumugi-kun! Your priorities are your own, yes.
