Day 13: Investigation
[Morning comes, and with it, a distinct sense of unease. The raccoons spared no feelings in their offers yesterday, and even tried to ensure a murderer could get away with it... Only if everything goes according to the raccoons' plans, though, and that hasn't really been the case so far, has it? Haven't you been doing so well these not-quite-two weeks?

But Hiyori can't help but to pick up the Nagisa-kun and hold it tight in his arms a moment either.
He sits with it in the closet a moment, then opens his eyes and finally notices the book. ]

hm.
when hiyori does choose to open it though, the book does tell the story of tsumugi's exploits during the war, how he was at eichi's beck and call every time while keeping an eye out for nagisa and hiyori back in the day - same old, same old.
until it mentioned something that the rest of the former members did not know, even eichi himself - that tsumugi had set fire to these records on a wintry day. there's even a bit of ash here and there if you turn the page to further prove this point. ]

And here Tsumugi had burned the records, so their misdeeds never marred their records, even if left a black mark on their souls.
For whose sake was that for, Hiyori wonders. It doesn't seem like Tsumugi-kun to do it for himself, but he'd never even known. Eichi-kun either, according to this book. He runs his hand through the ash, then wipes his dirty fingertips clean on the pages— Tsumugi-kun is gone now, just like the records, and with him any chance of making sense of it again.
Ah, it really is a foul Eve, isn't it?
He stands up, taking the book with him, along with the Nagisa doll. ]
