Day 17 - WHODUNNIT?
[It's that time again! The Great Detective has been killed, so put those little grey cells to work and find the culprit!]
[Most of the flooding has been stopped as well, though it's uncomfortably damp just about everywhere. Looks like the raccoons only half-assed their cleanup.]
[Speaking of half-assed, where's Tycoon? I mean, broken ones, sure, but has anybody seen him up and about? Looks like you guys might be flying blind this time around...]

What happened... exactly?

[only the most strictly platonic of abductions!!]

[he assumes. a non-platonic abduction might actually be a better outcome]

I... understand your feelings. But I tried to find Furudo-san too, you know.

...Why?

[he sounds]
[a little bitter? most of it is petty, but there's a layer of something actually angry in his words, too]
no subject
He was worried about you. You know that.
[ Whether Akechi level of response was justified, though... that's a call Shuichi's not really sure he can make. ]
I also know you talked about this, though...

[buuuut that is neither here nor there]
. . . especially since I was supposed to meet up with Erika.

[ That hindsight does put some weight on one side. But... ]
...I tried to find her too. I looked as long as I could, but the raccoons sent me back to my room.

[his frown deepens, the lines of his face harsh and sharp]
Why. . .? If I couldn't meet up with her, the least they could've done is let you.
no subject
...Or, that's what I think, anyway.
no subject
Well. . . you're obviously not wrong about that.
[considering. dead Erika. another hesitation, before he asks]
. . . are you okay?

This sure is awkward isn't it]

Actually -]
....Like two gradeschoolers.
[That's loud enough that Shuichi can hear him, yep.]
no subject
...No, not really.
It's not—I mean, neither of them are being particularly mature about it, but it's... they both feel really strongly about this. Kurusu-kun wants to be able to do what he thinks is necessary. Akechi-kun thinks Kurusu-kun is putting himself in unnecessary danger, and so even doing something Kurusu-kun disagrees with is fine if it means he doesn't die.
I don't... know how they're going to resolve it.
no subject
...Yeah, I know. I just -
[He makes a noise, cutting himself off.]
...I don't know what to do about it. I feel like I should help somehow, but I also feel like it's not my place to step in.
I just don't either of them to do or say something they'll regret.
no subject
...Yeah. I don't know how to help either. I just... thought both of them were working on it, I guess.
no subject
I never asked - like I said, I didn't think I had a right to.
I guess the only thing we can do is be there for them, no matter what.
[Because he's not deaf to the rumors flying around about Shuichi and Akechi :V]
