Day 17 - WHODUNNIT?

[It's that time again! The Great Detective has been killed, so put those little grey cells to work and find the culprit!]

[Most of the flooding has been stopped as well, though it's uncomfortably damp just about everywhere. Looks like the raccoons only half-assed their cleanup.]

[Speaking of half-assed, where's Tycoon? I mean, broken ones, sure, but has anybody seen him up and about? Looks like you guys might be flying blind this time around...]

Because she didn't believe that I was a homunculi and stated that we didn't exist.

That seems a bit rude, but I'm not sure I'd call it a motive for murder.

Denying the existence of homunculi doesn't just mean denying my own existence. It denies the existence of many others before me that have been made, used into tools, and died for literally nothing.

I carry the lives of those homunculi on my shoulders, so having them denied isn't something that I enjoy.

[ She smiles, in a way that practically says that she would have definitely done it for that reason. ] Well, of course the other motive is much stronger, but I'm not allowed to talk about that in public.

...Then, my other follow-up question. What sort of thing would be a fun murder, for you?

[personal profile] worldcup 2018-01-20 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Why would I answer that? Surprise is all a part of the fun.

[...]

But I will tell you this: if I did make the attempt to murder someone, I would have asked those two to give me back my powers to do it. As I am right now, killing someone would be pretty difficult. There would only be a few ways to do it easily.

...Given that the raccoons can tamper as much as they want, we don't actually know how she was killed.

[personal profile] worldcup 2018-01-20 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
That's true. Is there anything else you'd like to ask?

[personal profile] truthstranger 2018-01-20 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
What do you think of the others without alibis?
worldcup: (pic#9364221)

[personal profile] worldcup 2018-01-20 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
... The others? I don't really care about the others, really. Out of them though, I don't like Hiyori the most, but that's just my personal bias.

[personal profile] truthstranger 2018-01-20 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
I meant if you had any intuition of who the culprit is.

[personal profile] worldcup 2018-01-20 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
That's not something you should ask me about; I really don't care who the culprit is, so you can go ahead and find them yourself. Then again... even though some might think otherwise, I'm needlessly cruel. But I have to be, in my position.

If you talk about it from an emotional standpoint, out of the ones who could have killed her, it's probably someone who either didn't have any emotional attachment to her or disliked her. Although the latter was probably not all that difficult to achieve, I feel.

But... it would probably be easier to tell you who's more likely to not do it than to do it. Out of the group, I'd say Ein probably wouldn't have done it, just based on his personality alone. He didn't even understand the joke I made about his right hand.
truthstranger: (s34)

[personal profile] truthstranger 2018-01-20 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There is so much to unpack there. ]

...Ah, well, understanding that sort of joke is a different thing than being capable of murder, but I agree he doesn't quite seem like the type. Though, I haven't spoken to him much.

If we don't find the person who killed her, people might vote for you, you know. Or, votes could come down randomly on you. Do you really not care...?

Hmm... well, I'd like to not die, but if that's what it comes down to, then the blame lies with myself for not making my case properly. But if I was the killer. I wouldn't have bothered with the alibi sheet, you know? Or be the first one to write that I have a lack of an alibi.
truthstranger: (s24-2)

[personal profile] truthstranger 2018-01-20 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I think it makes perfect sense for the culprit to do something like that. After everything that's happened so far, they could assume someone is going to gather alibis, and it that their lack of an alibi would be revealed regardless. And taking initiative there would gain them some credibility.

[personal profile] worldcup 2018-01-20 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... I suppose that's true. But I don't like doing anything unnecessary like that. If I was the killer, I'd just admit it after playing around a little. I don't like other people taking credit for my kills, you know. And besides, I would have already finished my job.

But I'd appreciate not dying again.

In that case, please help investigate.

I'll try my best to at least not obstruct the investigation. I don't think I can do much considering that this is a farce of an investigation to begin with. Besides, doing all the thinking is better left to those who care more, don't you think?
