[Most of the flooding has been stopped as well, though it's uncomfortably damp just about everywhere. Looks like the raccoons only half-assed their cleanup.]

[Speaking of half-assed, where's Tycoon? I mean, broken ones, sure, but has anybody seen him up and about? Looks like you guys might be flying blind this time around...]

I'm not sure I'm closest, exactly... it sounds like she intended to meet with Kurusu-kun.

Of the people left, I'd say she was certainly more likely to go with Kaiba-kun than you.

...My intuition is that it isn't you. And Kaiba-kun has said some things that make me suspicious. But I still feel like there's more going on here than I understand.

...Well, I was in my room most of the day. And then when I ran into her, we ended up spending a lot of time reading, which was in public in the library. Other than that... I can't guess what she had in mind.

No, I didn't know their plans until Kurusu-kun mentioned it this morning.

...I don't understand why she mentioned it to Kaiba-kun either. Not because I think she should have confided in me, but... because I think she must have done it for a reason, and I don't know what that was.

It may simply be that he asked and she felt no reason to hide it. The night that two pairs were allowed to stay in the infirmary together, he approached me and asked who I intended to be our fourth.

No, from his account she's the one who asked if he had plans, and then she volunteered the information.

It is possible she meant it as insurance, in case Akira tried something. It may also be that he approached her with the same question on previous nights and so she knew to answer it before he could ask.

And while he may be telling the truth that he did not seek her out, that does not preclude that he found her by coincidence. Many things are possible.

Her saying it as insurance doesn't make sense, though. Does that seem like the sort of thing Furudo-san would do? I'm not sure she'd even believe she could be murdered. And even if she did, would she give away the answer to who the culprit was ahead of time?

It would be a sensible thing to do, so it may indeed be unlikely that she would.
