[It's that time again! The Great Detective has been killed, so put those little grey cells to work and find the culprit!]

[Most of the flooding has been stopped as well, though it's uncomfortably damp just about everywhere. Looks like the raccoons only half-assed their cleanup.]

[Speaking of half-assed, where's Tycoon? I mean, broken ones, sure, but has anybody seen him up and about? Looks like you guys might be flying blind this time around...]

[he says that with the utmost of confidence]

[ He just starts crying uncontrollably. ]

[his hand twitches at his side, like he wants to reach out, but. . . he doesn't. because he doesn't know ho well it'd be received right now]

[ He speaks again between sobs, sucking in air hard like he's hyperventilating. ]

...I don't—I don't know if I can believe that. You really think they'll do it? That—things will work out that well? I just—so many people have done—this, tried to act for the sake of everyone, and...

[purrtagonist]

[. . . in the end, he does lift a hand, gently reaching for Shuichi's arm]

If you don't believe in the system-- which you shouldn't-- then at least believe in me. Okay?

[ He sucks in a gasp at that, though whether it's at the touch or the words isn't immediately obvious.

And then he just... clings to Akira. It's sort of a hug, but awkward, like he's not used to doing this but doesn't know what else to do with the crushing amount of emotion currently hitting him. His whole body shakes as he leans against him. ]

[ah--]

[Akira's stiff for a moment, before he leans into that hug, returning it tightly, like he's grasping some sort of lifeline that'll protect him from however the vote turns out]

[truthstranger]

[ He's just going to continue sobbing against him until the vote is announced, probably. ]

[honestly, that's fine. Akira's going to stay in this hug until he pulls away, no matter how wet his shoulder gets with tears]
