[Most of the flooding has been stopped as well, though it's uncomfortably damp just about everywhere. Looks like the raccoons only half-assed their cleanup.]

[down he goes, the knife flying out of his hand and skidding across the floor]

[he stops fighting and just lies there]

[everything hurts, because tackling someone to the ground when your back is still healing and your hand was impaled and your leg was shot is. a bad idea]

[but he pushes himself up, taking a seat next to Akechi, and resting a hand on his shoulder]

[continues lying there, begins sobbing]

[the use of that name is extremely purposeful]

[well. that'll do it. he freezes for a moment, and then drags himself up to a sitting position]

Regardless of the reasons for doing what I did?

I still killed someone. And he knew that getting found out. . . was a risk I took in making that choice.

That's his justice, Akechi. And it's much bigger than the both of us. I can't be angry at him for following what he believed was right.
