Out of curiosity, what would have Futayo's reaction have been if Erika drew a hard line in the sand and said: "You need to give up all your other friends except me"?

How Erika handled Masazumi would have decided it. Only being friends with Masazumi and Erika? Okay ones first friend/cousin other is first person she asked to be a friend. Also the fact that Masazumi hasn't spoken to her in years could have helped Erika there.

If Erika had insulted Masazumi(or mom and dad) while doing it then Futayo would have ignored most of it. Ichigo learnt that by questioning her dad's parenting skills.

I NEARLY FORGOT - It didn't really come up but she'd have prioritised anything from her master higher than friendship. But her master isn't here so it's not really relevant.

Aaaah. She did get that impression and avoided that subject too. (I mean, there's picking up on people's backstories and tormenting them over it, but Futayo is the kind of personality where subtle tormenting goes over her head and outright unsubtle needling would likely get her ignored or resisted when Erika needed Futayo, so she never went that direction. That's the full level of 'tact' Erika has.) So, maybe if she had been more aggressive and went for it, it would've done it... but it probably would have provoked a big fight with Ichigo/others as well, so whatever.

I felt bad they didn't do more in the graveyard but by that point Erika wasn't actively trying to solve any murders anymore.
