[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

[if sudoh's cheeks get a little wetter because yusuke's closed his eyes and let a few fall, then he'll apologize for it later; right now he's going to hold sudoh's face and kiss him until neither of them can breathe, as clumsy and unpracticed as he is, he's fucking determined]

[it's a mess of a kiss, honestly. Sudoh has never been crying while he's kissed someone, and his breath keeps hitching at inopportune times, and their faces are all wet, but it's still. it's still so important, to cling to Yusuke and not let go.]

[this is new to yusuke as well, and for as messy as it is, he'll have to break it off after a few more moments, partly so that sudoh can breathe and partly so that he can stop himself from getting overwhelmed again. he doesn't let go of him, though; he just presses their foreheads together and stays in sudoh's space, his fingers sliding into his hair to hold on there]

Yusuke...

[curling his fingers tight into his shirt, almost shaky with emotion. Sudoh's just about as compromised as Yusuke is.]

I. I need to tell you more. Before I lose my courage.

[wants to kiss every tear off of sudoh's face, even if it's gross, even if he's gross, even if it'll just escalate things further]

Tell me.

[he's already losing that courage, almost visibly.]

Y'won't like it.

Tell me, Sudoh.

[dismemberthename]

[...clings to him tighter, as if afraid of being pried off somehow.]

I don't have much longer. I'm disappearing.

[his breath catches and he stops breathing. when he speaks, it's quiet, shaky]

... your memory...?

[dismemberthename]

[shakes his head.]

Not just my memory. Me. My memory's just part of it. But every time Shut Hell takes her body back, I'm that much closer to not coming back. And-- it's not her fault. She doesn't even know.

[yusuke's quiet for a few moments, and he pulls his hand from sudoh's hair to cover his mouth, his breath hitching again]

[takes it as the signal to shut up that it is.]

[he doesn't know what to say. he's still kind of reeling from the double-punch of never seeing sudoh again, and knowing that sudoh loves him--and knowing that he loves sudoh back. what can he say to this? "i'm sorry"? no, that sentiment is useless. his chest feels too tight, too hot, and he thinks it's just like with suoh. there is nothing i can do to help him.

...

but then he thinks of what he said to sudoh earlier. cherish every moment. sudoh said he didn't regret it. it would be an insult to sudoh to regret even a second of their time together, even knowing the pain that will come to them later.]

[there is one thing he can say, though. he barely gets it out between his breath hitching, but he says it]

I love you.

[dismemberthename]

[oh, that... it makes him happy to hear, but it hurts, but it hurts so much] Oh...

[it hurts way more than yusuke thought it would. he almost wishes he hadn't said it. but he made a promise to himself to be honest with his feelings, and he won't take it back.

he lowers his head and rests it on sudoh's shoulder, his own shoulders trembling quietly]

[...finally lets go of his deathgrip on Yusuke's shirt, to wrap his arms firmly around his shoulders.]

[muffled, slightly choked-off]

Thank you for loving me.

[he wraps his arms tightly around sudoh, unwilling to let go, to do anything else but quietly cry into his shoulder]

...You're welcome. But. It won't just be me, you know? You'll find someone else, someday. Someone who can stay.

I know. But I will not waste my time thinking of them when I only have you with me for a few more days. Even if you have come to love others here, like Suoh, even if you love them more... I will occupy my thoughts with you.
