[ Today the cafeteria looks different again, most of the tables cleared out and the space full of pillows, blankets, and love sacs of various sizes. Around the time everyone gets there, Vanilla pops up in the front of the room.. ]

Do you know what one of the most important things in a relationship is? Honesty! Do you know what some others are? Trust! Self-confidence! Communication! A sense of adventure! Sexual compatibility!

...What was I talking about? Oh, right! Today's event is truth or dare! You know how it works! Find someone and ask them if they want a truth or a dare! If they pick truth, ask them any question and they have to tell the truth. If they pick dare, tell them do do anything and they have to do it. Then it's their turn. Try to ask around!

And... I've got something special for you!

[ Vanilla pulls a sheet off a table to reveal a bunch of tiny plastic bottles, each about the size to hold one sip of liquid. ]

The blue ones are Vanilla's Famous Vanilla-Flavored One-Shot Truth Serum! One truthful statement guaranteed! The red ones are Sarsaparilla's Tequillas! Pure liquid courage - give yourself the extra kick you need to get out of your comfort zone!

...You don't have to drink these if you trust each other and are confident in yourself, but in the spirit of honesty in our relationship, I'm willing to make a trade. If all these shots are drunk by nighttime, I'll give you proof the people eliminated and disqualified are safe!

[ The truth serum, as you would expect, makes you tell the truth. The "tequillas" aren't actually alcoholic, but they do make you feel much braver. Both generally only last the length of one answer/dare, but some of them might last a little longer... chinchillas don't practice good quality control. ]

[He's happy about that, though. He leans in to kiss her, taking care to be gentle with it. He's fine being rough with Allen, but Sonia? She's a princess she deserves soft and gentle things.]

[assent]

Y...Yes. [ Her hand reaches for his as he leans in, her little finger curling around his as her heart pounds in her chest. He actually doesn't need to be gentle (because she wants to be more than just a princess as well, even if it's wrong to want that) but it's nice that he is simply so she can appreciate the feeling of it.

She leans into it though, her other hand lifting up to curl over his shoulder. ]

[She'll have to nudge him in that direction, probably. Rin really doesn't want to scare her off at this point, so he's taking it slow.

But when he pulls away, he's smiling like a doofus and has a tint of pink blush on his face.]

That was pretty good! Your turn now.

[What, did she think she would get out of this with just one kiss? Two dares = two kisses, duh.]

[assent]

[ That involves her accepting she doesn't have to be prim and proper first. Give her Time.

She's dazed enough every time this keeps happening, especially when he's smiling like that too. It's really cute, enough that she can't help mirroring the smile. What he says catches her by surprised, but she's at least quick to figure out the maths of two dares = two kisses. ]

Of course.

[ This time she moves both her arms up to his shoulders, stepping into the kiss and moving closer to him. It's still quite a shy kiss, but it least it comes in a deal with a hug as well. ]

[If she is initiating touching, then Rin is all too happy to jump right in. As they kiss his arms slip around her waist, pulling her close. It's still a slow kiss, but now there's more contact included and Rin is absolutely eating this up. He loves physical affection so this is alright by him.

But this is Sonia's kiss, so he lets her lead it. What she wants is what they'll do, he's fine with that.]

[assent]

[ She's pretty much affection starved anyway, growing up as she has with a television and a book as her best friends.

She's still pretty naïve when it comes to what else comes with kissing though, so other than this she doesn't actually push any further. It's soft, lips brushing together, then she's pulling her face away only to hide it in his neck as she keeps hugging him. ]

[That gets a good-natured chuckle out of Rin as he moves his arms up to hug her around her back.]

It's fine, it's fine! You did a good job, there's no need to be embarrassed.

[assent]

[ She grips her own arms tighter. ]

It is a little more complicated than that... but thank you.

[ She is not supposed to be running around kissing boys when she has a country to bear in mind etc etc ]

[That right there, that worries Rin a bit. He'll let go of her and draw his arms away, but he still remains close.]

Do you want to talk about it?

[assent]

[ Her arms drop as soon as he starts to pull away, and there's a smile on her face--fake as fuck yet still convincing enough. ]

Ah, there is nothing to worry about. Truly.

[flamingprick]

[Noooo not that smile!]

Aaagh, not you too! I thought you were gonna be my ally against Allen for that!

[assent]

[ Nopeeeeeeee, sorry to say she's Just As Bad with it. ]

I... am certain I do not know what you are referring to?

[flamingprick]

[He just. He puts his hands on her shoulders.]

Look, I know all about that 'I'm not really okay but I'm gonna pretend I'm okay so nobody worries' act. Yukio does that all the time so I've grown up seeing it!

It's alright to not be okay. If something's bothering you, it's okay to be upset! I'd rather see you smiling, yeah, but honest sadness is better than fake smiles.

[assent]

...Sadly it is not. [ Her eyes close, and that smile doesn't shift. ] After all, I am a princess before I am a girl. Whatever this is... will stop when I return home.

[flamingprick]

Why?

[No wait, he better clarify there. Because he definitely knows that when they go home that seeing each other again won't happen.]

Why do you have to stop being honest with yourself? I mean, I know you're a princess and all, but you still have to be you when you rule. How can you trust yourself to make the right decisions for your country if you can't trust yourself enough to be honest with yourself?

[assent]

I did not say that, merely that my feelings on it do not matter. Every step of my life is planned for me, after all.

[flamingprick]

You know, a lot of people had plans for my life too. And I said 'fuck you' to all of 'em and made my own path.

[Mostly because people wanted him DEAD but. Details.]

You don't gotta go that big with it if you don't want to. Small rebellions are fine! Doing your hair in the way you want, writing your name a special way because it's what you want to do, stuff like that. You may have a duty to your people, but you don't have to stop being 'you' because of it. You can do both.

[assent]

[ She goes quiet at that. ]

It is not the small things that really count, you realise? Of course I have interests I am able to pursue in my free time. I watch dramas, I read about the occult, or whatever topic I wish to outside of my studies, however that is not the same as being able to enjoy the benefits of friendship or [ She pauses. ] ...anything else, for that matter.

...Sometimes when I think about it, I do not wish to go back and that thought terrifies me.

[flamingprick]

Well...if you really don't want to go back, you could always go somewhere else maybe? If this place is like it was last time, at least. We got to choose where we went last time.

[assent]

And just abandon my family and my people? As I said... it is complicated.

[flamingprick]

I believe you when you say that. But it might be a choice, so at least think about it? Regardless of what you choose, I want it to be a choice you won't regret.

[Choice is important to Rin. Like, REALLY important. so he wants her to know she has a choice here too.]

[assent]

I... promise I will consider it, at least.

[ The choice would be a lot easier if she knew the truth, honestly. ] I apologise for worrying you.

You don't need to apologize, it's-

[He should probably explain it.]

Yukio- my twin brother- he takes on too much responsibility. He's got a full-time job AND he goes to school full time AND he teaches cram school classes. And on top of all of that, he's been taking care of a lot of stuff from when our Dad died. He just...it's too much for one person! But any time I try to help him, he just smiles and says it's okay. He smiles that smile. The one both you and Allen get sometimes. And I know he's not okay at all, because he snaps sometimes and I can see just how not-okay he is. But usually it's that same smile and-

[This is why his biggest fear in the world is losing his brother.]

I just...I can tell when it's that kind of smile. When you have too much to handle, but you don't want others to worry too.

[assent]

[ Her gaze softens, drifts down to her own hands that are starting to shake slightly, pressed against her dress as she tries to keep calm about this. ]

Perhaps it is too much for one person, I cannot say I understand your brother's situation, however... I have thousands of lives to consider before my own. I cannot afford to be selfish. [ The smile she gives him is a lot more genuine now, but it's also Bitter. ] Yet here I am.

[flamingprick]

...You know, Allen said something like that to me. About how he couldn't be selfish. You two are a lot alike, you know that?

[He sounds fond when he says that though, and a bit sad.]

Of course, I just ended up being selfish for him instead. Maybe I gotta do the same for you, huh?
