Her hand hasn't left his as he explains, but her concentration is actually on Mikan to see if she'll need to reassure her as well. ]

[Mikan shakes her head quickly and snaps to attention, back straightening and a determined sort of looking coming to her face.]

I'll look. Allen-san, remove your shirt and sit down. I'll get the bandages and sutures--Is it a big wound? Ah, Sonia-san, can you get a washcloth and lather soap and water on it? And get me another dry one, please.

[She's the Ultimate Nurse for a reason dammit and this is probably the only time she'll show any sort of take charge attitude without the stuttering and apologies. So, you know. Enjoy that while it lasts]

[he moves to follow instructions after a quick look to Sonia. mostly because. well.

the boy is riddled with scars with the one on his right side going from his shoulder down to his hip dwarfing all the rest. not to mention the blood-red markings on his shoulders and covering his left arm. the wound in his left side is. well, it's not healed but it is being held shut by. some kind of. feathery substance deeper in the wound.

in other news: he's scrawny as hell and you can probably count ribs but also he's just solid lithe muscle.]

[ She doesn't actually look right away though, mostly because the shift in Mikan's tone surprises her--she isn't from the same timeline so it isn't like she'd heard it before. She's quickly moving to sort out the washcloths, putting them on a tray for easy transportation.

So that means when she glances back she's caught off guard, even knowing some of the things he's been through. She holds the tray firmly before placing it on the side table. ]

Here. [ Her voice is oddly a lot softer this time though, and it takes a lot of effort to not reach out past holding his hand again or to Ask about it.

Then again, after what Rin told her yesterday it makes it harder to anyway. Small blessings right now. ] Is there anything else you need? [ That's directed at Mikan, obviously. ]

What the... [The feathery mass thing does NOT seem medically safe, but somehow it's, erm. doing its job. She supposes.

She can't resits prodding at them though. Did they come out? Would they disappear as she worked or did she have to pluck him like a chicken?]

[Also because she saw them holding hands before, and if Sonia wanted an excuse to hold his hand again now, Mikan would provide. She's a good friend.

She grabs up her supplies and sets about cleaning the wound, even though it looks clean enough already. Better safe than sorry.] I'm going to sew it up. [Just so Allen knows precisely what she's planning on here. Still, she frowns and shakes her head]

Why didn't you get help for this earlier? It's super dangerous going around with an open wound like this--Holy...parasite thing or not!

[it actually. seems to respond to touch in that it. moves back inside him? but that clearly is not very pleasant for Allen, though he's got such a high threshold for pain that he only grimaces a little. still, it leaves enough room to work with sewing skin back together.]

[and actually holding Sonia's hand sounds like a great idea because he does feel a bit dizzy at the idea of not actually running around with a gaping wound, weirdly enough. relief, maybe?]

The-- the wound's clean, and there's no infection... So long as he doesn't move too suddenly or stretch too far to rip the stitches, he'll be okay.

Of course! It's my duty as a nurse to help people in need! And... Allen-san is a good person... [because apparently just saying outright that she likes him and he's a friend, maybe??, is too much.

She grabs the needle and sutures once the wounds cleaned to her satisfaction and she wastes no time in piercing the needle through to start sewing it closed.] Allen-san, you have to be careful after this for a while. And I'll have to check on it every once in a while while we're here.

[Her gaze travels to his arm because ?? ?? none of this makes sense god why. Why are you like this Allen]

and now the hand squeezing is because getting sewed up without anesthesia is always a fun time.]

Since Mikan is distracted by tending to him and it looks like it hurts like a bitch though, she braces herself for the squeezes and keeps his hand plastered to herself like glue. Her head tips forward, lips brushing over the back of his hand now. It isn't like they can do much else to ease the pain, so... ]

[Sonia's movements have Mikan pausing, eyes flickering to their clasped hands and she wonders if she's missed something here. Things to tentatively ask Sonia about later...]

G-good. Because ripping the stitches and having to redo them is probably going to hurt a lot worse the second time around.

[... time to not point out that he actually knows how that is from experience. just smiling like it's totally normal to have a 3 month old wound get sewn up on the 6th day of being somewhere with a legit nurse not out to capture or kill him.]

Mikan remains quiet throughout the rest of it though, until she's finished and can sit back with a little sigh to examine her handiwork. The stitches are neat and orderly, and though she still feels kinda weird about the whole feathers thing, she's just glad to see its all taken care of.]

There! We're all done. [She eyes Allen's face carefully] Is there anything else...? You don't look sick or anything, but, um, if you start feeling feverish, you n-need to see me right away There could be an infection or something, but... But it should be fine. [Now that her little piece is over with, the stuttering and uncertainty comes back, her eyes moving from him to Sonia and back]

I, um, I should look at it at least once a day until we leave, just to check on it...
