I accept your apology. I have decided to work on the mural's design some more before I paint it. But it will include your Persona in it, regardless. It is not meant to portray the Phantom Thieves, necessarily. It is just those of us who awoke to something greater.

... well. That is the working concept, anyway.

I wonder if Loki might not be more appropriate. I began using Robin Hood for the purposes of deceiving you, after all...

Or is it because he was only about deceit? But still, Loki is the real me.

[yusuke thinks for a little bit]

If that is the case...

[he reaches for his sketchbook and flips it open to a blank page, twirling his pencil (where was it...?) in his fingers before he starts making an outline for loki]

I will require some input from you, as it has been a while, and I did not get a clear look at him the last time.

That's the point, I think. Dazzle camouflage and all.

[small smile as he watches Yusuke sketch]

Still, I wish I could show you. I've come to really miss him.

[yusuke's pencil stills for a moment before resuming]

... I wonder, sometimes, how I lived before. How I could go years without feeling that presence.

I know the feeling. It's a wonder I survived as long as I did.

[zones out for a moment before focusing in on the drawing]

Three thick braids, two thin. Legs jut up past the hips.

["it's a wonder i survived as long as i did". those words resonate a little too much with yusuke, so he focuses on drawing instead of addressing that. he matches what akechi says with what he can recall, and draws, the vague sketch starting to come alive with sharper details]

I seem to recall a pair of horns?

That's right. Front of his head, curving upward.

When did you first awaken to him?

Near the end of junior high. I stumbled into the palace of my then-caretaker and drove him into a rampage. It wasn't intentional... but I can't say I regretted it.

Do you remember what he said to you? I replay the words Goemon spoke to me in my head sometimes.

Of course. I'll never forget. He gave me the power to punish the scum of society; to make them understand how it feels to be isolated from the world.

[by itself, hearing this should make yusuke sad. it's a sad story, after all. but instead it makes the image he has of akechi in his mind become clearer. he shouldn't pity akechi. he knows firsthand the rush of emotion, the clarity, the conviction and determination that comes with awakening to a persona--no, he doesn't feel pity. he feels admiration.

yusuke focuses on the sketch for a few more minutes, and then lifts his pencil. the sketch is pretty darn close to what loki looks like, save a few small details, but he's got mmmmost of it down]

How is this?

That's very good. The pattern is different on the left side of his chest— like a spiral but with right angles.

[gestures with his finger]

Interesting... he strikes quite an imposing figure.
