Trash Squad Day 11 - SECRETS
Are you ready for it?! It's the long awaited final event! This is your last chance to get close before your final dates and the final bonus event!
And, back by popular demand, it's the motive vi—wait, no, not that. Well, I guess you're motivated to build your relationships? That's better anyway.
...Anyway! Check your tablets! You will find you have a few interesting video files! They should be familiar to you! The catch is... if you don't share each one with a different person by nighttime today, they will all be shown to everyone here! We'll have a fun midnight viewing party!
This may seem a bit cruel, but... love is cruel sometimes. Take it as an opportunity to get a bit closer to the people you care about, or everyone will learn a bit more about you! It's win-win when you think about it that way!
[ On your tablets are a minimum of 3 video files! There is no maximum; it's however many you OOCly want to deal with. Each video contains some sort of secret your character has—'secret' loosely defined as anything they would be uncomfortable being thrown up on a big screen in the auditorium in front of everyone. The presentation can be as simple as lines of text with embarrassing facts (Alice wet the bed until she was in junior high!) or as involved as a dramatically edited montage of the murders they committed through their whole life. Your choice!
Each file should be shown to a different person to count as 'shared'. If there is anything they do not manage to, or choose not to, share with someone in particular, comment with a brief description of it over here. These will all be shared publicly in a post which goes up on Thursday before the date announcement post. ]

Very well. In that case... I shall follow your lead?
[ She says while trying to not have her legs collapse under her. ]

point B being... his room. where he sits her down on the bed before handing her Timcanpy.]
Don't worry too much about squishing him. He's pretty malleable.
[pulls a waste basket over to the floor in front of them as he settles next to her again.]
no subject
Her hand automatically holds onto Timcanpy, blinking at him quietly. ]
...Thank you. Um. Would you like to go first or shall I?
no subject
[he says it, but he feels a little numb saying it.]
no subject
Okay. It is okay.
cw: for Allen Walker's terrible life (also dead dog)
taps the first one that comes up because if he tries to think too much on it, they'll never get through it but already it starts badly.
it starts with a young scruffy child with red-brown hair and a hideous, more gnarled-looking bloodred arm working busily on cleaning the items of circus performers backstage. one handedly. the video jumps forward, to the child cleaning the place, to the child doing the laundry by hand, to the child passing out food to all of the performers at their trailers before ever being allowed to have a meal of his own, and at some points, not at all.
there's yells of abuse hurled at the child, the Ringmaster noticeable for the line "You should be grateful I even took you in. No one else would see a use for someone like you," while looking spitefully at the lame arm. a clown with white-face makeup and a red star over his eye is also noticeable for how he beats the child when he knows the Ringmaster isn't watching, and then turns around and tells the Ringmaster how lazy and incompetent the child is so the other man beats him.
this is the common day for the child.
the video skips forward--a ball is missing from the equipment. a new performer's dog took it. the child panics because if the ball isn't found, he'll be in trouble--moreso than usual. it's snowing outside and the child isn't dressed for it at all and eventually he collapses into the snow and looks for all the world ready to just be buried under it... only to have the dog plop the ball right on top of him.
strangely, despite the cold, they play a game of fetch. it's the first time the child has smiled in the entire video so far.
the video skips forward--that hideous clown has pulled the child to the side and asks about that dog, how its been hanging around the child more since that snowy day. the clown places a bag into the child's mismatched hands--it's full of broken glass.
"Mix it into the dog's food," is what the child's told but instead of obeying, the child throws it down to the ground and shouts how he won't do such a thing.
it leads to a beating. more severe than any others. the picture goes black with the sound of a dog barking.
the video skips forward--there's clearly more to the story but the video is strapped for time, because suddenly there's a nicer clown sitting by a freshly dug grave with a rubber ball balanced on top of it.
"Is it dead?" the child asks and the clown confirms it.
they talk for a while--the child confessing he's not too keen on clowns at all and the clown pulls odd jokes like mock-hanging himself, until the child becomes agitated that the clown isn't crying at all for his dog who the clown Cosimov beat to death, that he barely even knew the dog but was already crying over it because it had licked his terrible hand days before it had died. it's the first time in the video that the child actually honestly and truly cries like a child should at his age.
"I see... so you were friends with Allen, too..." says the clown with a sad smile.
the video ends.]
cries about the dog... and allen too ig (joke)
What happened to the one who did that to you?
[ She sounds... furious, actually. Like she's ready to fuck someone up. jfc. ]
no subject
but then he's asked that question and he just. slowly looks over to her, eyes still a bit distant, blinking slowly like he's trying to. make sense of what she's asking.
"which one?" is kind of at the tip of his tongue but.]
... Mana and I left the circus not too long after that.
[fuck if he knows or even cares about what happened to them, tbqh. he sort of remembers? but like... also that terrible thing that happened in the inbetween that has something like a high pitched whine of alarm screaming in his head if he thinks too much about it.]
no subject
She breathes out slowly, holds onto him and kind of sinks against him as well, trying to be a solid weight to focus on to bring him back in a way. ]
no subject
his arms go up and around Sonia's waist, holding her close.]
Sorry.
[less for the bad memory, more about the spacing out.]
It's okay. It's just... old things. I'll be okay.
[if he keeps telling himself that, then it's fine. he can put it aside and not deal with again for who knows how long.]
no subject
So instead of telling him to face it head on, she lets her hands move again, this time to his shoulders and gently kneads there slightly, her lips moving to kiss his cheek then across his jaw to his ear. ]
You will be, yes.
no subject
We will be.
It'll be hard for a while... but you will be, too, Sonia.
[he really, truly believes that, even with terrible possibilities that may lay in wait in those secrets.]
no subject
Of course.
no subject
unfortunately...
after a while, he does shift, looks to Sonia's tablet almost... spitefully. clearly not pleased about any of this "game" their hosts decided to put on, much more focused on the here and now.]
... I can just watch it.
[it's an out. everyone deserves at least one out and Sonia deserves all the outs of having to deal with this.]
However bad--well, I've probably seen worse.
[that's not actually as comforting as it sounds, Allen.]
no subject
No. It is... fine. I would rather not run away from it, especially as imagining may be worse than the real thing. Besides, you are here with me, yes? That already makes this a little easier.
no subject
he lifts his left hand to touch her cheek, understanding.]
Mm. I'm here with you.
dr3 spoilers
Her lips even twitch like she's trying to not smile, but gives up and just lets it happen when he touches her cheek. Her face warms, her own hand moving to cover his. ]
Thank you.
[ She'll let go though so they can settle, and clicks the second video on the list because it's unfamiliar and everything isn't up in flames--maybe it'll be fine (spoilers: it will be worse than the flames one maybe).
It starts with the focus of her and some of her classmates as they enter a room. The room looks circular, with a bunch of monitors on the walls all around them. A cheerful voice is what greets them.
Hello! Is everybody here? Then let's get started!
Mikan points out the screen, where Junko Enoshima has another monitor of their classmate Chiaki Nanami. Everyone sounds confused as to what is happening, however... and Junko's response is not exactly encouraging.
Upupupu. As the curtain-raiser for our wonderful despair... it's punishment time!
The screen changes, turning pixelated with GAME OVER at the top, a sprite of Nanami in the middle. A sprite of Junko comes onto the screen and drags her off, "Nanami Chiaki's punishment time" in Japanese at the bottom.
The monitors are focused on Nanami herself now as the door opens and she steps into what can only be described as a deadly game. The video fast forwards to the "mid-way" point, blood stains the floor in spots as the girl struggles to walk on. The loudspeaker is on, and Junko is talking.
That's our Nanami Chiaki, the Ultimate Gamer! She dodges traps that usually kills those who have never seen them!
She's running with her arm bloodied already, but the speaker isn't done.
But this is where things get tough! Come on, Nanami-chan! Do your best to reach the goal!
Nanami steps on a floor tile that goes down, then steps onto spikes that come out of the ground, stumbling back screaming. Junko is still speaking encouragement over the speaker too--mocking her.
I've heard rumours about you. About how all your classmates were scattered at first. But there was one female student who brought them all together.
Nanami manages to pull her foot off the top of a spike, stumbling up and limping away.
Her voice is weak, but determined as she says "I'll make it back to everyone".
That's what made you catch my eye, y'know?
A boulder is coming from behind now, rolling down the hall like in crash bandicoot or some other crazy video game. She makes it about 10 steps then three shot put balls hurl at her face, one hitting her smack on the eye, bloodying it all up. She clutches at it, but she has no choice but to keep walking anyway--especially with the boulder behind her.
"Not here"
A saw comes out of the wall next, but she ducks under it. Another on the other side, that she manages to dodge. Another on the floor. Another on the floor and then there's a path to the right she can sneak into and the boulder rolls on past. She's panting heavily, but still says "I won't lose. I won't lose to you. My classmates, Yukizome-san and I will definitely stop you!".
Junko's response is cheerful. Yes! That's the hope I want to crush! After all at the start of despair the end of hope seems only appropriate! Come on, get those legs moving and run. When you die, the video will throw everyone into despair!
Sonia's classmates talk about trying to save her, but when they try to move they can't.
The video skips forward now, to a door with the word GOAL in big letters. Nanami opens the door to an image of her classmates illuminated in a white light, an illusion of her teacher welcoming her back then a spear goes right through her chest. Not even a second later she's being pierced in multiple places in her body, held in the air by them like a pin cushion.
...and the video ends.
Sonia doesn't really make it though, as soon as the end image comes up she's leaning over to throw up into the bucket--very glad that Allen actually suggested this to begin with. ]

it reminds him of the "games" Road played when they first met. but, like with his first meeting with Road, the thing that catches him off-guard most isn't even all the gore and torment.
it's simply: this is... a human? doing this?
even with his own terrible experiences, it's something that just can't seem to process right in his head.
why are humans always so much worse?
he's quick to toss the tablet aside and help hold Sonia up while keeping her hair back as she vomits. his hand gently runs its fingers through her hair as he does, as he makes encouraging and concerned sounds, not even sure if this is the right way to help but... it's what he can do.]
no subject
Besides, thankfully it doesn't last for long and him keeping her hair back helps a lot when there's just. So much of it. She stops after a couple of minutes, leaning back shakily as she stares ahead of herself. She's still too stunned to say anything either, actually. ]
no subject
... I don't really understand, but that person is wrong.
no subject
I do not understand either. Nanami-san is my classmate... I have no recollection of her ever dying... She was with us on the island.
[ And the Nanami in the video was... more determined and forceful than that Nanami so it's even more confusing?? ]
no subject
That person was driving everyone into a corner. For the fun of it, or...
[he pauses, frowning heavily as a comparison comes to mind.]
... it reminds me of what the Millennium Earl does. Orchestrating tragedies. Just so he can create more akuma. Especially with that bullshit about hope and despair.
[spoilers: he HATES the Earl and now officially hates that Junko girl for putting someone he cares about through something so terrible]
no subject
[ Don't mind her, trying to figure it out anyway even if she should probably let it drop. ]
It would seem that was the case. If my assumptions are correct, perhaps... this was the start of it all.
[ She pushes the bucket away now, grimacing at the taste in her mouth. ] It appears you were correct about bringing a bucket, also.
no subject
but he. sighs. heavily.]
Unfortunately, I've had. A number of experiences where a bucket would have been nice.
[Level 4 comes to mind and he thankfully only feels remnants of nausea at the reminders.]
But why would there be a peaceful simulation after something like this?
no subject
"Rehabilitation" is what Saihara-san described it as. That is why... my memories are missing, I suppose.
