Day 5, afternoon
[SO HEY, THIS MORNING WAS SUPER COOL, HUH??? EASTER EGG HUNT, BODY PARTS, TOO MANY LEGS, SUPER FUN, RIGHT????
and the fun don't stop here at Nope's Peak Academy, because once that announcement has gone off and everyone's had a couple of minutes to...pretend to catch their bearings and deal with the fact that all of the body parts are gone except for the major award leg lamp Ichigo's stuck holding, there are more announcements to come.]
As of now, you have the rest of today and tomorrow to figure out who to punish for the murder of Sigma Klim! You should double check your rules page if you forget what that entails. Or if you didn't! Nyehehehe.
[And there's something new on that rules page, too, for those who take a minute to check.]
You can vote whenever you want, but make sure to do it, okay? It's going to be a problem if you refuse to vote at all, nyehehehehe!
[When the characters open up their tablet again, laborious instructions will guide them through getting to the voting app and using it; both names and pictures are showcased. Votes can be changed at any time, and there's a countdown at the top of the app for how long until votes are due.]
Good luck, everyone, nyehehe!

[look. he's just saying.]

That's assuming the killer actually tried to clean up the scene at all, and didn't just leave the job to our two trashy game hosts.

Another option to all of this being suicide, of course.

Why commit suicide, though? Knowing that doing so would lead to an investigation, which would lead to a vote, which would ultimately kill someone completely innocent?

Without the raccoons' interference, we'd likely be able to easily eliminate whether it was murder or suicide.
As it is, the body is dismembered, the room is a bloody mess, none of the clues seem to match the peaceful expression on Sigma-kun's face, and we're left caught debating whether it was in fact murder or not.
But if we get the killer wrong, the person we choose will be executed, isn't that right? In that case, the raccoons could have done this because Sigma-kun made it too easy. Or there was a killer who made it too easy. Or they simply wanted to up the chances for another death because we as a group are too hesitant and cautious to give in easily to their bloodsport.
... either way, it certainly does discourage one from considering making it easy on others by choosing suicide--it would satisfy the One Death Per Killing Night and the living could just say the killer was the victim themselves. How troublesome.

[his expression shifts into something wry]
It's tough for a detective to turn off the analytical part of his brain, isn't it? Stringing pieces of logic together to form a coherent solution. . .
In a game of trust and betrayal, I don't know if that's going to get us anywhere.

... Akira-kun, this is how I spoke even when I was a criminal, you know.
