Day 5, afternoon

[SO HEY, THIS MORNING WAS SUPER COOL, HUH??? EASTER EGG HUNT, BODY PARTS, TOO MANY LEGS, SUPER FUN, RIGHT????

and the fun don't stop here at Nope's Peak Academy, because once that announcement has gone off and everyone's had a couple of minutes to...pretend to catch their bearings and deal with the fact that all of the body parts are gone except for the major award leg lamp Ichigo's stuck holding, there are more announcements to come.]

As of now, you have the rest of today and tomorrow to figure out who to punish for the murder of Sigma Klim! You should double check your rules page if you forget what that entails. Or if you didn't! Nyehehehe.

[And there's something new on that rules page, too, for those who take a minute to check.]

You can vote whenever you want, but make sure to do it, okay? It's going to be a problem if you refuse to vote at all, nyehehehehe!

[When the characters open up their tablet again, laborious instructions will guide them through getting to the voting app and using it; both names and pictures are showcased. Votes can be changed at any time, and there's a countdown at the top of the app for how long until votes are due.]

Good luck, everyone, nyehehe!

The other person wouldn't have to commit murder, though - they'd just have to lie.
respendent: (that's right)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Correct, but there is little to gain from that, unless they had a personal stake in the murder! I don't mind moving on to that once all are confirmed, but for now assuming only one person lied is easier, yes!

Look at the rules again. The killer can stay here for a greater prize if they successfully commit murder. There's nothing stopping two people from making an agreement and staying around.

To become an alibi in the future for the other person, that's correct! However, that makes this much more complicated, and assumes we have two such devious people amongst us! Someone devious would wait until later, when they have a better read on everyone, rather than jumping at murder the first chance they get! It's possible, certainly, yes!

But to open ourselves to that possibility from the start opens the playing field rather than narrowing it down. I am not arguing it is impossible, I am arguing it is unlikely and we have more to gain by checking the simplest solution first! Ichigo-kun, don't be so fussy!
insurgeont: (Like all the filthy kinky porn--)

[personal profile] insurgeont 2017-12-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
It is more likely than someone claiming an alibi without first guaranteeing the false alibi's cooperation. Do you think the murderer is an idiot?

The most likely explanation is that the murderer and accomplice both stood to gain from the incentive given to the murderer. This is not impossible. I will not share what I was offered, but I can say I would not be the only one to benefit if it were fulfilled. The ones who are most suspicious are those who knew each other prior to this.

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! To murder someone so quickly, with so paltry a carrot, I do think they would be, yes.
respendent: (that's right)

2/2

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
But to address your second concern! If you assume those who knew each other had motives that would coincide and not conflict! That said, it is much easier to check if anyone lied, first. We can move onto the second theory if you like, but if we overlook an obvious idiot because you all overthought it, I will not be pleased!
insurgeont: (Not that they were ever going to be?)

[personal profile] insurgeont 2017-12-21 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps what you were offered was paltry, but you cannot speak for everyone. I was offered something unattainable by any normal means. If the culprit were truly so shortsighted, they would have acted on the first killing night. I stand by my previous statement.
respendent: (If they can't raise my interest then I)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.
blueeyeswaifudragon: (who needs friends I've got money)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Has anyone ruled out this being some crime of passion?

Alternately, could it have been done without their partner's knowledge?
respendent: (But they can't see the light)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
A crime of passion, with an arrangement ahead of time to lie? Those things do not work together well, Seto-kun!
blueeyeswaifudragon: (are you fucking sirius)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
--What did you call me.

Seto-kun! It's what the tablet says your name is, yes!

[ hiyori is going to fight everyone over his right to be obnoxiously over-familiar with them ]
respendent: (some boys slow dance)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
It does, see!

[ PRESENTS: TABLET

set to the ultimate dragon fanboy page ]
blueeyeswaifudragon: (I'm missing Dragon Tales for this?)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Give me that.

[from his expression, hiyori may want to think twice]
respendent: (I just walk away)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ yanks it back, alas no ]

Unfortunately for you, this is mine! You are free to do what you like with yours, but I am under no compulsion to follow your orders, and I am loathe to give up a single bit of what's mine! You understand, right, Seto-kun?
blueeyeswaifudragon: (mr. pouty pants)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
...You realize two men are actually dead for more frivolous reasons than this, right? You're not the only one "loathe to give up a single bit" of what's yours.
respendent: (You know that we are)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
My, a death threat!

[ this does not seem new or novel ]

I have no intention of stooping to that level, but if you insist on being violent I'll break the glass of this tablet into your eyes! If you want it broken, no better place to break it than with your face, yes!

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
[sneers, dismissive]

Feel free, if you can reach that high.

Anyway, what I originally intended was two separate statements. Has anyone ruled out that Klim had any enemies? Given his size and stature, one wouldn't expect him to be anyone's first target without good reason.
respendent: (If they can't raise my interest then I)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
No one has come forward to claim they knew him from before! And no one has been forthcoming about their contacts with him!

In the meanwhile, I do have information and of those who look like likely candidates, Ulaz is by far the most suspicious!

[ Swaps from presenting the tablet to presenting his sheet of information ]
blueeyeswaifudragon: (timmy--in the well?)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[duly checks it out]

...He would be able to overpower Klim. But at the same time, if there was a fight, I imagine he'd have a very different expression. It's more likely he was taken by surprise, whether in sleep, or taken in by a honey pot.
respendent: (But they can't see the light)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
The raccoons are confirmed as having tampered with the crime scene! Having seen the victim's ass in the chimney, a bow tied around his sensitive parts, I guarantee this, yes!
blueeyeswaifudragon: (looking down)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-21 06:14 am (UTC)(link)
I received his leg dressed with a lampshade, so I was aware. That said, rigor mortis sets in fairly quickly, so it is less likely that he died wearing some horrific expression.
respendent: (And I am a material girl)

[personal profile] respendent 2017-12-21 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
True! In that case, by surprise or in his sleep would work well enough!
