Day 6 - Final discussion before the second execution

[This morning, a video of Tycoon auto-plays on everyone's tablets. He is in a dimly lit room, and seems to be eating pudding out of a bicycle horn...? Whatever, the raccoons are weird.]

Today’s the day! Are you pumped up? Psyched out? Pissed off? Done in? Hehehehe!

Everybody better vote today for who you want to be PUNISHED! If you don't vote by the time the timer reaches zero, your vote will be randomized! Just like it now says in the rules!

I, Tycoon (only Tycoon), will still answer one question per person if you haven’t cashed yours in yet! Rule clarifications are free, by the way! Also, quit freaking out about the people who are off crying in their rooms or whatever! You already have all the alibis you need to solve the mystery!

Vote! It says midnight Friday, but it's technically midnight Saturday. 11:59 Friday, WHATEVER.))

I think the more important question is "would Sigma have thought of this anagram BS"? Because most people wouldn't do that, they'd do a nickname, or something like the other thing you suggested.
purrtagonist: (So what happens on a triple botch)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2017-12-22 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
What if he couldn't?

[tilts his chin up!!]

A nickname might be a little too obvious for our furry friends. And I don't really think it's a coincidence that two nonsensical words can be rearrange to formulate one that actually does make sense.
flamingprick: (*raises eyebrow*)

[personal profile] flamingprick 2017-12-22 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Then why not make a mixed-up word of someone's actual name? Or do an alternate kanji reading?
suppressthedark: (☾ 21)

[personal profile] suppressthedark 2017-12-22 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure Sigma was Japanese.

[Granted, a lot of them here are, but 'Sigma' is pretty out there even for a kirakira name.]

And the mixed up thing might be too obvious for the raccoons to allow.
flamingprick: (Bon mah booooi)

[personal profile] flamingprick 2017-12-22 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno, they did answer your question of 'was it a guy'.
suppressthedark: (☾ 44)

[personal profile] suppressthedark 2017-12-22 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
But not when people directly ask them if a specific person killed Sigma. Mine was vague enough to leave us a lot of potential subjects to go through.
flamingprick: (*raises eyebrow*)

[personal profile] flamingprick 2017-12-22 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
And didn't we think it was one of like five people then? And none of them were either of the two people talked about here. Maybe that's why they answered, since we were wrong anyway.
suppressthedark: (☾ 15)

[personal profile] suppressthedark 2017-12-22 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Then it's pretty suspicious they didn't really give an answer if Sigma actually wrote it or not.
purrtagonist: Even if they turn into an apple (It’s not ok to eat people)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2017-12-22 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[a humorless smile]

I can't answer those questions. But I do think Sigma chose this method on purpose, regardless of the reasons.

flamingprick: (I heard something like that once)

[personal profile] flamingprick 2017-12-22 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Did anyone really know the guy here? Maybe if he's one for puzzles like that, it'd make sense.

[Rin didn't know him at all, so he can't offer any insight there.]
purrtagonist: (I cast Sticks to Snakes on the campfire)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2017-12-22 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
I only spoke to him once, but he's been through something similar to this before. And from what I could understand-- [the parts Ivan didn't censor because I HAVEN'T FINISHED VLR YET] -- puzzles were a big part of his escape.
flamingprick: (listening)

[personal profile] flamingprick 2017-12-22 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. So maybe a puzzle like that would be something he'd do after all.

[WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THIS?]
purrtagonist: from the devil. for your own safety (Everyone please stand 20 feet away)

[zero escape man]

[Akira just shrugs!!]

blueeyeswaifudragon: (where else could I put a dragon)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-22 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
If he liked puzzles enough. If it's truly a hint from a spirit, what else do they have to do with their time?

Of course, it could be a different code than an anagram, such as a ROT13 cypher.
blueeyeswaifudragon: (did anyone find my kaibaman fanfic)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-22 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
...A code. Possibly of the sort where each letter is put off by just a few letters. But no, it would be difficult for that to continue to be words after being encoded... Ugh, puzzles.
flamingprick: (what the fuck are you talking about)

[personal profile] flamingprick 2017-12-22 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, these puzzle things suck. Just punch the person trying to kill you next time, we'll notice the black eye.
blueeyeswaifudragon: (who needs friends I've got money)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-22 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'll keep that in mind next time I'm killed.

...I believe the leading assumption is that Klim didn't struggle when he was killed. But who knows, we could be as wrong with that as the leg lamp was.
wolfsbaneandtears: (Default)

[personal profile] wolfsbaneandtears 2017-12-22 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
Only if it was a cipher that adjusted for vowels. Typically ciphered English text doesn't produce this many vowels, let alone words that are intelligible. And such a cipher would be hard to crack from only two words unless it was a known one like ROT13.
blueeyeswaifudragon: (I'm missing Dragon Tales for this?)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-22 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed... That's why I usually leave these things to computers to solve. There's nothing saying that the words aren't just simple clues for desserts or horns, either...or that the actual anagram wasn't "taco hooka pi".
wolfsbaneandtears: (Default)

[personal profile] wolfsbaneandtears 2017-12-22 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
All of those things are possible. But, are you willing to assume that this isn't a clue? If not, then we should favor hypotheses with meaning over those that don't.
blueeyeswaifudragon: (I'm missing Dragon Tales for this?)

[personal profile] blueeyeswaifudragon 2017-12-22 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously. ...This sort of disorganized information gathering is not to my taste. There are supposed to be people to take care of this.
