But the lack of an alibi for Niles means you don't have one, either.

[SORRY CORRIN. . . internally, Akira's heart is twisting in his gut. but he puts on a calm, confident facade as he speaks, words slow. thoughtful. he's trying not to make baseless accusations]

I'm not really sure you can fill the spaces of what's lacking. You said you fell asleep, so you can't vouch for what Niles was doing before he supposedly found you and took you to his room.

And alternatively, Niles can't vouch for what you were doing before you nodded off.

[Hm... ] I can only do my best to tell you what I know then, then.

I saw him go into his room when it was early into being on lookout around those dorms. I would have seen anyone else coming through, for that matter. I was doing so because I was wondering if anyone else would get taken like Santa probably was.

It may not fill the gap of when I eventually fell asleep by his door, but I did see him go in his room before I had nodded off, is what I can say. I would've seen and heard him come out during the time I was awake, at the least.

That sounds like something you should have mentioned sooner. Why withhold that information until now, when you're both under scrutiny?

Because I thought it was understood? [his mistake...] It seems I have to spell it out from beginning to end, after all...

[It also doesn't help when you have more than one person asking for alibis and not knowing who to tell to. You detective wanabes...]

Even if your amendment to your story is true, that still leaves the both of you with empty spots in your alibi.

I only got to know Niles for so long; So I don't think I can be sure on an answer about that. I can only assume that he would if Leo was in danger or if Leo ordered him to, just like any of my other siblings' retainers would do.

What do you have to say about Ulaz's supposition? That, perhaps, Niles is the one covering for you?

That night... Niles said he can believe that my intentions are sincere. But I don't think he would go far as to cover for me on anything. He doesn't quite trust me, as he told me.

I've come to want to protect him if it ever came to that point. For his own sake and also so my brother still has a retainer.

[for a moment? he wavers, as he's suddenly reminded of what will happen to Niles if he's voted as the guilty party]

. . . if you know of another meaning to "Captain Hook," then now would be the time to speak up.

[He's silent for a moment. He kind of doesn't. But! A guess. It's a long shot but... ]

What if instead of WHO it was referenced to... it was a reference to the weapon that killed Sigma? This 'Captain Hook' fights with a sword, right? If we're referencing to pirates...

A person here who is proficient at that kind of weaponry?
