This is the last raccoon holiday for a while, so if you'd like a vacation from this murder game before the KILLING NIGHT, check your tablets! We'll even let you leave the campus, so you'd better praise our generosity!

[There's a new app on the tablets that cannot be removed. It will only activate when you are alone in your room, but click the cute carrot icon and you'll be given a simple prompt: "TAKE A VACATION?" with yes/no prompts. If you click "no," nothing happens; the app simply closes, ready for you to click on it again. But if you choose "yes," you'll become a bit lightheaded, and the next thing you know, you'll be back home. But not just any home: The home in which your murder carrot(s) (the best one, the newest one, or maybe even both of them? It's up to player discretion) has already been made reality. You'll be there for a full three hours before you're brought back to Nope's Peak, holding the tablet as if you never left. After that, the app will only say, "You know what to do."]

By the way, if it ain't obvious, that killing night is tonight! If you're thinking about doing a murder, rest assured: We will NOT let the dead mess up a trial like that again!

[In other news, the science lab has been restocked, and the raccoons made a HUGE mess eating out of the kitchen trash, like worse than usual.]

It's called magic, however, because they're miracles that cannot be easily recreated. I can't do anything like the Second Magic. What I can do, normally, is simply magecraft.

There's a lot it can do. A lot of really amazing things. But we're also limited, too.

It makes me wonder how they're doing this, you know? What're they using? Not just to show us this, but block our own powers.

Will-san suggested they made us go on 'vacation' via implanted memories. Have you ever heard of anything like that?

Implanted... ah, yeah. That's not difficult to do, actually.

Have you done it before?

[I mean...she sounds so sure of herself.]

No, but... there's a few things that make it easier for this sort of thing. One of them being the fact that we accepted the vacation. It's a lot easier to do this if you say yes.

Easier? Is it because you're giving them consent to do whatever they want?

Pretty much. I've done something similar with Shirou, but it didn't deal with memories... rather, I managed to transfer his sight elsewhere. But altering memories is pretty easy to use on people who don't have any magical capability or those who can't block it with their own magical energy. In fact, this is the type of magecraft that can backfire.

But if you say 'yes' to something, especially a question, then they can do whatever they want.

Of course... I was aware of the potential consequences, but I still pressed it anyway. I guess you could say 'curiosity killed the cat', in that sense.

Kind of reminds me of inviting a vampire in. From the old european tales.

[Like how they couldn't enter a house unless you gave them permission, that sort of thing.]

Oh, those stories... it's funny, since that isn't actually the case for real vampires.

[ Since vampires do actually exist in her world, not that she's actually met them. ]

But I suppose that's a good thing.

That's right.

[ She says that so easily. ] There's even a group of people called the Executioners that hunt and kill vampires. They're from the Church.

...Yeah, it makes sense that the church would want to kill vampires.

[Because the whole 'vampires are agents of satan' thing, which he doesn't really get, but europeans are WEIRD ANYWAY so who cares.]

Do you have werewolves, too?

I don't know. I've never ran into one.... but I wouldn't be surprised if they existed.

...Well, it's not that weird, I guess. I know someone back home who's literally a giant dog-man, and a woman who can turn into a cat.

[Actually, he does kind of wonder how yoruichi can change into a cat...he's never really asked before.]
