[ Hiyori is ever-ignorant of the concept of indoor voices, but he's keeping his answer short and to the point. He's well aware of the fact he's useless in this situation, and close to neither Akira nor Ichigo— which means that while he's not interfering or here to unnecessarily aggravate either of them, he's not trying to be helpful, either.

He's trying to gauge Akira's condition, to see if he can pick Akira's brains about this now or if he'll have to wait even longer. ]

[Define 'more lucid', because he's still lost a shitton of blood and an eye so even 'more conscious' is still 'pretty fucking out of it.' He sort of stares at her in slight confusion as she talks to him, catching the meaning of her words but only getting half of the message.

[Okay, now that he gets what Dazai is saying, he's going to yank on that leg sharply to either move it or knock Dazai down too. Or that's what he's trying to do at least.]

[Akira is cognizant, aware and able to speak, although his words are slurred and his slow to respond. he can probably talk a little bit! but Hiyori might have to catch him later for a lengthier, in-depth explanation]

[ She manages to say that rather smoothly, but thankfully he doesn't fight back. Then again, if he did, he'd probably get more than just yelling. ]

But he's really annoyed at that sudden change in Dazai's demeanor, and he's starting to think that all Dazai wanted out of it was to die. Which means he's going to grab Dazai's shoulders and try to flip things around a bit so he can have Dazai on the ground being yelled at.]

Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to make friends? Do you?! I'm half-demon, Dazai! A literal, living half-demon! And I've got the hair-trigger temper to go with it!

Nobody wants anything to do with me! Ever! Either I scare them off with my temper, or they run away as soon as they figure out what I am! And that's not including the ones who try to kill me for it instead! Do you have any idea how lonely that is? To not have a single person you can rely on? To not have anyone to share happy memories with?

[Well...he does have a few people, now. He's managed to make six whole friends! Seven if you count his brother. But he's trying to make a point here, so.]

So when two of the very few people who actually gave me half-a-chance are dying, and a third is trying to die by my hands, then hell yes I'm going to be selfish!

If he was not, we would not be keeping him in the infirmary! Corpses are not likely to recover, even if we give them care! He is breathing, yes.

[ Hiyori could have said the last part first, but he didn't. Still, eventually he said it. Hiyori's lips purse a little— it was a given that Akira would be in a bad way just by looking at him, but now its confirmed. At least this seems like something he can recover from. ]
