[Ah yes, there's the beautiful sound of Raquelle's voice ringing out over the loudspeakers to wake everyone the fuck up this fine and lovely morning. Don'tcha just love that raccoon screeching.]

I get it, I get it, you're all fat and happy after the holidays. Well, no more of that, that's for sure! You can trust us on that, you sure can, nyehehehehe! 'til then...Oooh, maybe we will have some corpses to mess with if you guys don't hurry your butts up.

We had a deal. Getting yourself unnecessarily killed wasn't part of it.

[he attempts a wry smile, but it really looks more like a grimace]

[his expression darkens, eyes slipping shut tightly]

[he'd say more, but. he's trying to catch his breath again]

[he takes in a deep breath, and swipes the back of his (uninjured) hand across his forehead]

[absorbs this, incidentally giving Akira time to catch his breath before speaking again]

...Important in the near term or important in a way that can wait? Or is that a question for a different venue?

[he admits with some difficulty, but he's struggling so hard to stay awake. to tell this story]

It was hidden behind a c. . . curtain. Didn't see what it was. Barely got c-close enough to pull it aside before the machine kicked into gear, and--

Alright. ...Whatever it is, it shouldn't be moving anytime soon, so don't worry about it for now. Resting should be enough of a task for the near future.

[he says firmly]

I. . . I think we'll. . . we'll have to at some p-point.

But not until that machine is-- [a gasp] -- gone.

Don't worry about it.

With that gash in your back you're not going to be going anywhere anytime soon, so you may as well get cozy. It's possible that the next place you'll be headed is back home.
